Village version "phones it in"

| I am a huge fan of the original version of the Accomplice, so was excited to try the Village edition. What a pale, watered-down version this is. It feels like the producers ran out of ideas and slapped something together to make more money. The story is harder to follow, the characters are not as fleshed out (with two exceptions in the middle of the adventure), and the ending is hands-down lame. On occasion actors were given good material and were fantastic, but some of the dialogue and story line (especially the ending) was torture to sit through. There were some folks in our group who hadn't done the original and we all agreed that they had a better time than those of us who were repeat audience members. It's too bad that the creators didn't put more creativity into this second version so that all of us could have walked away impressed. If you've done the first version, you definitely see all the tricks coming. Bottom line... if you haven't done the original, this will be a really fun activity. If you have, you'll be disappointed but slightly amused. | ||||||

| I did the Accomplice the village a few months ago and loved it. This one however was much different. Started off okay, the actors (especially the one who met the group to start it off) were terrific, however...I seemed to be looking for a theme, something to tie clues together like the one in the village. There wasn't one. It was more or less a game of going from one place to get a clue to get to the next place and it was a bit lengthy. A couple of stops along the way had actors that were obviously stalling for time because the group in front of us was behind schedule and it just got frustrating. | ||||||

| . . . and what sights you will see! This was a fun activity with a good range of components making it a worth while experience. What made it extra special was the group, so thanks to them for making it so memorable. | ||||||

| My husband and I brought our 19 year old niece to NYC for the weekend and had heard about this from a friend. We really didn't know alot about it. It was a very fun way to see parts of the city, meet people and just have something to do for the afternoon that was different from looking in gift shops. I would recommend this to anyone coming to New York City for the first or fifteenth time! | ||||||

| This is my second Accomplice New York that I have had the luck to enjoy. It was one of the best times I have had in NYC. We all had a blast. My only disappointment is that I've done both Accomplices and there aren't any more! I recommend this to everyone. | ||||||

| My wife and I went with another couple to the accomplice and had a fantastic time. We live here in new york and have done it all, musicals, plays, museums, tours. The accomplice is so different and excellent fun. I would never go into great detail because the less you know about the accomplice the better. All you need to know is that it's awesome and you should do it. So, go buy those tickets....NOW! | ||||||

| It was a real highlight of our trip. The actors were great, the scenes had loads of humour and fun. We kept up a good pace and saw lots of unusual places we would have otherwise missed. Certainly would like to do another one. | ||||||

| Be ready to walk all over southern Manhattan! This is an interactive game-like setting where you piece clues together and meet all sorts of interesting characters in the plot. Every clue and every character helps you get closer to bringing a delivery from the 1st character to the final character. Be ready for all kinds of adventures along the way! | ||||||

| My wife and I bought tickets on a whim. No idea what to expect or what it was all about. We showed up at the meet point where there were four other people. Soon thereafter we were greeted by the Accomplice "guide". Let's just say that the initial guide did a very good job making me think we made a huge mistake in buying tickets (almost too good, we were seriously considering bailing...) The funniest aspect of the "show" was I was absolutely convinced the four other people were "planted" by the show to help guide and influence us. This of course impacted my actions/reactions the entire time. Only at the end did I learn my New York paranoia got the best of me - turns out they were just on the adventure as well. Accomplice is just good fun - no deep thoughts or revelations at the end, or wondering how the world would have changed. You just roll with it, smile a lot, try to guess whose who (well at least if you're me) and yes, there is a "ah-ha" moment where the theme snaps together and you feel like a idiot for not noticing it earlier. You wander the Village with more than a vague notion of where you need to go, looking for the next item/person/thing to connect with to lead you to the next one and so on. Along the way, you get free drinks (courtesy of same unique Accomplice cohorts), free coffee and figure things out. I would recommend it, just be certain to wear shoes/clothes for the weather - whatever it may be. | ||||||

| After reading the reviews and hearing about The Accomplice, I was so excited to go. It wasn't mysterious. The "clues", if you could call them that, were dumb. I kept wondering...is this it? Is this the show? There is no plot or point to the story and much of the dialogue is irrelevant, gibberish. Overall, I thought it was pretty cheesy with mediocre, implausible actors. The entire show was somewhat strange. In fact most of us were bored. AIthough some of the ideas were cute, it could have been so much more interactive. | ||||||

| The cast is always in character, so you're not quite sure who is and isn't in on the inside workings of your secret travels across town. It's a little adventure that is just fun to do with a group of friends. There are also built-in stops along the way for drinks, which also helps make for a good time. There's nothing else like it. | ||||||

| We had so much fun, we all can't stop talking about it. It was entertaining, clever, and fresh. This was a perfect thing to do for our friend's birthday. We are always looking for a unique experience and this was definitely new and innovative. Thanks for a great time! | ||||||
