Activity Description
Just 45 minutes south of Boston, Plymouth was the landing place of the Pilgrims in 1620, and the site of the First Thanksgiving.
This is a private tour, consisting of only you and your party. One ticket admits a group of 1-6 guests. The tour lasts either 4 or 6 hours (depending on the type of ticket you buy), including travel time from and back to your hotel or residence in downtown Boston.
Both the 4 and 6 hour tour versions include the following sites:
- The famous Plymouth Rock, under a granite canopy, provides an excellent photo opp
- The impressive bronze statue of Massasoit, chief of the Wampanoag Indian tribe, and friend of the Pilgrims.
The 4-hour Regular tour version allows for a tour of ONE of the following, whereas the 6-hour Extended tour version allows for a tour of BOTH, along with a stop for lunch.
- Mayflower II- experience the cramped quarters of the Pilgrims, see the livestock and items of furniture they brought on their 66 day voyage.
- The 1627 Pilgrim Village of Plimoth Plantation, where the colonists speak in their 17th-century dialects, cook pottage over the hearth fire, milk the cows, or thatch a roof. The village blacksmith entertains us as he works and, at the the Wampanaog Indian Homesite, we see the puttakaukan, a round house, and the neesquttow, a house with two fires.
Other historic sites that we can visit include the Jenney Grist Mill (1636), Brewster Gardens located on the site of a Pilgrim's first home, the 1749 Court House, the Mayflower Society House Museum, and the Pilgrim Hall Museum.
What Is Not Included?
During the 4-hour Regular tour version, we will NOT be stopping for lunch. The 6-hour Extended tour includes a stop for lunch. The cost of lunch is not included in the price of the tour. We recommend you bring approximately $8-16.
Entrance fees to the Mayflower II and the Plimoth Plantation are not included in the price of the tour. Adult tickets cost $8 for the Mayflower II, and $21 for the Plimoth Plantation. If you're visiting both on the 8-hour Extended tour, the combination ticket is $25.
