Adventures in Paradise Kayak & Snorkel Tours take you to the Big Island's best kayak and snorkel destination: Kealakekua Bay & Captain Cook Monument. Tours leave in the morning when spinner dolphins are most common & there's less wind, making paddling easier. Mornings are also typically sunny, affording greater enjoyment snorkeling above coral gardens & colorful tropical fish.
Experience soaring 600' high cliffs - home to exotic tropic birds & lava tube caves. Kealakekua Bay sees wintering humpback whales, endangered monk seals & green sea turtles amongst other marine life.
But this Bay presents another dimension. The Bay is a National Historic site, and has a rich history of Polynesian explorers/settlers and European explorers. You will visit Ka`awaloa, home to Hawaiian Ali`i/royalty and the site where famous early western circumnavigator James Cook first contacted the Hawaiian people and discovered the Hawaiian Islands. This event marked the beginning of dramatic changes to the lands and people of Hawaii.
Beginners are welcome on our tours. Paddlers 6-70 years of age join in our small group tours (maximum 12 guests).
