Fresh muffins on arrival, large selection of kit, so getting right size not a problem. Guide (Kira) was a marine biologist with a friendly personality well suited to running this type of activity. Respect for the reef was shown, so no damage was done by tramping on the coral, plus Kira's knowledge on thinks aquatic was second to none. Home made snacks available were lovely and enthusiasticly devoured by the entire group. |

Nothing but good things to say about AIP. Keira, Karen and the rest of the crew were wonderful. I don't have much experience with other kayak/snorkel outfitters on the Big Island but Keira was a great guide. Very knowledgable and someone who really likes what she does and it shows. Five stars! |

This trip was picture perfect! I had some trepidation as I had never done anything like this alone but our guide was fantastic! He made me comfortable immediately. I've never had such an easy time kayaking or snorkeling. Super organized, super interesting, lots of great information about the history and ecology of the area.Looking forward to another trip! |

I don't know why, but we were the only two people on the tour (we went on a Saturday morning). Our guides were Roy and Joy, so we each had our own tour guide. Consequently, we were at the snorkeling spot very early and had a lot of time before the boats came and dumped their tourist loads into the water. The spot at the Captain Cook memorial was the best snorkeling spot we found on either Big Island, Maui or O'ahu. Our guides brought plenty of food and their own brand of Kona coffee, and on the way back we even had dolphins join us. What more could you want? |

First off--Kira (hope I'm spelling her name right) was AWESOME. Sweet gal. Very knowledgeable. You can tell that she loves her job. We saw a pretty big family of spinner dolphins on our way to the monument and they did not disappoint. They were jumping and spinning. The bay was beautiful--it was our second time there. Chased a bunch of fish around trying to get decent photos with my underwater camera. The snacks that Kira provided were great. We then snorkeled for about another half hour and headed back. Be careful when you get into the kayak from the monument side--I slipped and fell and bruised my ego more than my left hand and tailbone! I would definitely recommend this trip to those who are looking for more than just a 'snorkel trip' to Kealakekua. Sure you have to paddle across the bay--but you get to see dolphins!! (And work out a little at the same time....) If you get Kira for a guide you will immediately feel at ease with her. |

The guide was very helpful and seemed to be thrillied to be doing his job. The pace was enjoyable and the fish while snorkling were beautiful. |

Guides were nice folks, thorough and safe. We ended up in a big group with 8 boats but everone got plenty of snorkel time and good insight to the best spots for viewing. Thanks Evan for the swim through the arch. Nice to let the experts deal with permits and boats and such. Good day for our group of three. |

My husband and I were on the Big Island to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we wanted to snorkel and kayaking to this location seemed to boost the whole experience even more. It was a beautiful day and our guides were full of great knowledge of the area's history as well as information on kayaking and what we might see snorkeling as well as what to be careful about when snorkeling. I loved that they were respectful of the environment. What was also great was they were guiding us to be mindful without being heavy handed about it. I was a little nervous( I'm not a great swimmer) but I felt confident with their guidance and equipment and I never felt so comfortable snorkeling. I also loved that they were tandem kayaks, very stable and it was so fun kayaking with my husband. The early hour is a real advantage to snorkeling there because it is very popular and gets very busy as the day gets later. Thank you for an incredible activity on our vacation! Sheryl and Kim Ptak |
