The trip is exactly as advertised -- perfect for beginners and all ages, but not dull for people with more experience, either. The guides were really knowledgeable and friendly and kept everyone safe. While we were at Captain Cook monument, the local police came around several times checking people's kayaking permits, so it was really reassuring to be with a tour rather than have rented and paddled out on our own. A couple things to note to improve your trip: 1) bring bug repellant if you are mosquito-sensitive, 2) the tour's directions and information e-mail says not to bring towels, but you can and should, 3) this tour doesn't have a shower or changing area of their own, and the public area shower was broken the day we went, which was a little inconvenient, but the tour staff did everything they could to make people comfortable. |

Had a great time. Kayaking was easy. Fairly simple getting in and out of the boats which can be a challenge.
Mike was a great guide. Very friendly, helpful and full of information. Good snorkeling. |

We highly recommend kayaking to Captain Cooks Monument with Adventures in Paradise. They are permitted by the state to dock the kayaks at the monument. We booked online through their website and saved an extra $10 per person. They are very friendly and knowledgeable about kayaking and the bay. Our trip was about 5 hours and it is a great half day activity while you are on the big island. The snorkeling was the BEST I have ever experienced. The coral and fish were incredible. We also saw dolphins on the way to the monument and on the way back! It was an awesome excursion. I have teenage kids and they loved it. |

Guides were Safety conscious, gave clear instructions, provided good equiipment, left on time, were cheery and fun. Lunch snack was more than adequate. At first we thought that a later departure time would have been better, but being the first to arrive at Cptn Cook memorial area was a huge benefit as the entire area filled up with an abundance of boats and snorkelers by the time we left. |

To start our guides Mike and Kira were wonderful friendly, warm and inviting .Breakfast snack consisted of blueberry and banana muffins .They explained what the time line was and got everyone fitted before we took off for our journey. The drive was a steep and winding road which Mike handled with ease (trailer in tow with 7 kayaks on board. Their knowledge and respect for the landscape as well as the ecological concerns were displayed in their conversation with not only their group but for the other visitors of the bay. They are trying to protect the beautiful coral and surrounding area for the next generation as well. They pointed out so many things on the way to the bay , we seen some remains and damage of the recent tsunami from where we launched our kayak .Which was seamless very safe and comfortable.Karen filled us in on the landscape of the area as we drove both to and from the site .Lunch was fresh fruit, cheese, crackers ,granola bars and water.
We have done kayak and snorkel tours like this in other areas but have never seen the abundance of coral or the vast array of beautiful fish like this before.....Would highly recommend this tour .We will definitely do this on our next visit back to the Big Island. Thanks for a wonderful experience. |

Mike was the best guide. Our kayak trip to the bay for snorkeling was amazing. Our guides were helpful and informative. On our way out we had dolphins swimming within 5 feet of our kayaks. It was an incredible experience & would reccomend anyone to go. |

The Kealakekua guided kayak day-trip was wonderful -- the guide did a great job, the equipment was all fine, the ride to/from the bay was comfortable and safe, they helped us into and out of kayaks very well --- and overall we really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend. |
