Adventures in Paradise

It was awesome from beginning to end. You really won't ever see turtles, which we were hoping for, and dolphins are kinda rare, but the kayaking, crew and other sea life were off the charts awesome! I would totally recommend this great group and tour to everyone!

It is a little harder to get in and out of the canoe than advertised. My mother (in her late 60's) and my sister in law (overweight) had difficulty. Bring a waterproof camera. Ours got wet and was ruined. Guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Rowing was easy -- only the youngest had a problem (age 9). Fish were spectacular. Best snorkeling in Hawaii. My own kids are 10 and 13 and had a great time. Good snacks too.

The activity is a good experience to do but is too much expensive for the expectatives. There are a lot of people snorkeling in the bay at the same time (this devalue the experience).

The only real problem, and I'm sure all the companies deal with it, is getting in and out of the kayak. My Wife had a difficult time, and smashed her finger against the brick wall getting out. I would think there could be a better way of getting in and out.

First let me say it was a beautiful day on the Kona coast. No haze and of course warm weather. That being said, Mike did a great job of narrating the tour as we paddled to the Captain Cook monument. We appreciated his care for the environment. He joined us during the snorkeling and pointed out creatures we might not have noticed. The snacks were snacks but there were plenty of them. Mike not only helped us out but also provided assistance to others who were not part of our group. This did not detract from the attention he paid to us. The company was a good group to work with. They just need to get seat belts in their van!

Great snorkel trip to a protected bay. Our guide, Mike, was knowledgeable about the area, and had a genuine concerns for the pristine conditions in the bay. Other tour groups in the area were walking all over the corals and Mike was the only one asking (he was very polite) people not to disturb things. The only difficulties we had were getting in and out of the kayaks, but this was a problem with the docks the state of Hawaii had set up, nothing to do with Adventures in Paradise. Everyone associated with Adventures was very laid back and friendly.

Guides were nice folks, thorough and safe. We ended up in a big group with 8 boats but everone got plenty of snorkel time and good insight to the best spots for viewing. Thanks Evan for the swim through the arch. Nice to let the experts deal with permits and boats and such. Good day for our group of three.

There are a lot of great trips in Hawaii, but most are way overpriced. This is NOT one of them. Adventures in Paradise offers a very straighforward, well organized adventure that should please anyone wanting to kayak and snorkel in one of Hawaii's most beautiful spots. The tour leaders are experienced and seem interested in making sure everyone has a great (and safe) experience. If you are not careful, they may also teach you a thing or two about the island and sealife. Highly recommended !

We had a great time on our kayak trip to Capt. Cook's Monument. We are a family with adult children and couldn't decide what to do on this trip to Hawaii as we had previously done everything on other trips...so we looked on the Internet and found this trip and are we glad we did! It was easy to schedule, easy to find and our guides Ron and Joy were so fun, informative and knowledgeable about the monument and the bay. They made sure we were comfortable with our kayaks along with the snorkeling. They also served us hot coffee, water and snacks. It was perfect! We would recommend this trip tp everyone! You won't find a better tour then this!

Really enjoyed this trip. You do not have to be an experienced kayaker, and the pace was laid back and slow. We never felt rushed. The guide was the right combination of attentive but not overbearing. We also had a close encounter with the spinner dolphins which was the hilight of my vacation. I highly recommend this trip and don't be put off by the early start time, it's the best time to go before it gets overly busy in the bay.

We were greeted by Jeff, Kira, Ryan immediately upon arrival. They were friendly and enthusiastic as we filled out the required paper work and were given instructions about the day. They explained the importance of respecting the marine life in the bay and led by a wonderful example!! Driving to the bay with Ryan he explained the area and the history of the bay. The kayaking was excellent and the snorkeling was amazing, the best I've seen. We were also treated to an amazing dolphin show, they just happened to be in the bay that day. We enjoyed our tour so much we booked a second trip with them, the night manta ray snorkel. Of course they cannot guarantee the manta rays will be there but we had our own private show for about 15 minutes, Amazing!! Adventures in Paradise is a wonderful company with friendly staff who provide an Eco-friendly tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone! Thanks guys, Dan and Gary

This was a great outing to do. Getting there early in the morning allowed our (small) group to snorkel the bay before the masses got there. It was an easy kayak out, but still a bit of exercise. The guide was quite friendly and knowledgeable. On our way back, we paddled by some dolphins. As we were required, we stayed 50 yards away and stopped the boats to watch... and the dolphins (about 5 of them) chose to swim right up to us and give us a little show. Quite amazing... highly recommend this tour.

Highlights were the dolphin showing off by leaping and twisting in the air. Many other dolphins. Commentary good. Had a minor problem with battery in the van. Kayaks okay but could use slight maintenance. Snorkels and fins very good. Snacks okay, fruit or sandwich may be more healthy. The snorkelling area is very good and the timing and guidance were excellent.

Very professional, took good care of everyone in the group, provided and excellent value and experience.
