The Urban AdvenTours 'Greening the Greenway Tour' is the best way to explore the infamous Big Dig and learn about the open space it has created, the Rose Kennedy Greenway. This 18 billion dollar project is the largest of its kind in the world, but promises to leave Boston with a fabulous new green space, changing the complexion of this historical city forever.
You will discover the unique character and charm of each community up close, in person, only possible by bicycle. We include elements of our City View Tour, by including the traditional tourist destinations with a focus on the impact of green spaces as well as the hidden gems.
This extensive tour, specifically designed to show you the overall experience of Boston, includes:
Historic Fenway ParkThe Freedom Trail Haymarket or another public market for refreshments The North End - Boston's oldest residential, Italian neighborhood Copley Square, where you'll see the Boston Public Library & Trinity Church
On this guided tour, you will also ride on paths created by American landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, see the Back bay Fens, the oldest community garden in the United States, the Boston Common and the Public Garden, and the revamped Seaport District. Feel free to snap pictures of all our green buildings, the Charles River and of course, "The Big Dig."
