About the Tour de Farms:
Since 2006, we've been pedaling the Tour de Farms to highlight sustainable agriculture in the metro-Boston area.
The 2011 Tour de Farms will consist of a ride exploring different types of local, sustainable farming. You’ll get a chance to sample fresh, locally grown food, learn of the benefits of local agriculture and how you can actively support these efforts. The ride will be led by experienced riders and there will be technical support in the case of flat tires – but please be sure to bring extra tubes and tools!
August 20th – Depart from Franklin Park to visit community supported agriculture, historic farms, and a unique “chicken project.” Riders will have the chance to see the bounty of these farms at the local Roslindale farmer's market. This will be a longer more "road ride" type route. Riders should be confident riding 30-40 miles and maintaining a paceline.
Stops include:
This ride is available to a limited number of people and is likely to sell out. In the case of very severe weather the ride may be postponed or canceled. Refunds are not available for this ride and in the case of cancellation, credit will be given.
