missed the tour but loved the bike ride!

| We were 30 minutes late arriving to the bike shop due to transportation issues, so we missed the tour. The staff was very accommodating, however, and we rented two bicycles and did the tour ourselves. The shop had a map of the general route the guided tour takes, so we followed it as closely as we could. This was our first trip to Boston, and the tour hits all the great spots in Boston. We had to stop often to navigate, so we ran out of time and didn't get to ride up to Harvard Square. Obviously, if we had made the tour, we wouldn't have lost time navigating and would have gotten to see everything. The shop closed at 5:00 pm, but the staff let us return at 5:30. We still had to pay the full price for the tour, but we got a free t-shirt. So, even though we missed the guided tour, I highly recommend it! I think biking is a great way to see and explore a new city. | ||||||

| I would highly recommend the Adventours bicycle tour of Boston. Andrew and Alex were excellent tour guides. The weather was perfect. Our daughter lives in Boston and we are giving the tour to her and her fiance as a must do outing. When we come back to Boston, we will take the tour again. | ||||||

| The tour was fabulous! The traffic was not an issue getting around in it, we found the tour thorough and comprehensive. Really gave us a feel for the area and we were the only two on the tour which was a phenomenal bargain in itself but also allowed us to ask extra questions, etc. Everyone should tour the city this way! | ||||||

| My wife, and 10 y/o son and 12 y/o daughter and I booked the bike tour around Boston. Andrew met us on time, was pleasant, communicated well with the kids at their level, the bikes and helmets fit and operated well. Andrew took us around Boston and explained the history and was conscious of our abilities, and kept us safe on the streets. We took the tour on a Sunday to avoid alot of business travel. I would recommend this trip for active families with kids. It was great. | ||||||

| You are in contact with the city and its historical places, more than you would be from a bus or troley. I highly recommend it. | ||||||

| Great overview of Boston. Barry was a wonderful tour guide. Even the rain didn't put too much of a damper on the trip. | ||||||

| I had been to Boston before, and this bike tour offered a different way to see the city. It's a great way to see the sights, go through neighborhoods that you wouldn't see on a traditional tour and get an overall sense of the city. | ||||||

| This was a truly great experience. I was the only one signed up at this time, and so my tour guide gave me a personalized tour. This is the best way to see Boston, hands down. | ||||||

| The tour group comprised of my GF, myself and the guide..mike. He is a nice guy, great guide knows his stuff (he is, afterall, a local, through and through!) oh and as Mike says: It sucks to BU...right? Seriously, well done Mike. Boston is a nice bike friendly place--> I am comparing it to Sydney, Australia. Here most drivers hate bikers! Fantastic way to see the city and get your bearings. If you can do one of these tours. | ||||||

| I serendipitously joined my college alum activity group because we were out and riding and missed a turn to end up around the starting point of the tour about the time they were ready to leave. We were at first a bit skeptical because we weren't really sure how a bike tour would work or how trite it might end up being. It turned out to be a great way to combine an activity where you get to see a city from a different perspective which incidentally provided for two plus good hours of interactions among the riders and a guided tour to boot. We were so impressed that we sent my girl friend's parents who were out of town on the tour and they too loved it. If nothing else, it's like hanging out with people in many different parts of Boston all in 2 hours plus a little exercise. | ||||||

Bike Tour Worthwhile

| The Bike Tour is definitly something I would recommend to others. The tour guides were very friendly and easy to talk to. They took the time to tell us details about the city and stopped at several locations, allowing us to take pictures. It was an excellent opportunity to see the entire city and to enjoy the outdoors. I have nothing bad to say about the tour itself. The only pitfall was that they tour was scheduled for 10am and we were told to arrive at 9:45. However, the bike store didin't open until 10am and by the time we hit the road it was 10:30. It was only concerning to me because I was leaving Boston later that afternoon and was afraid of not getting back in time. Other than that, all went well. I do have to say I was a bit shocked that there were only 4 people in all that decided to take this tour. Two of which were only there because they missed the one they scheduled the day prior. | ||||||

| My wife and I took the Boston City View bicycle tour on June 30, 2007. We had an excellent tour guide, Ed, who led us through the streets of Boston and gave us lots of interesting information on the history and architecture of the city. Our tour began around 10:15 on a Saturday morning, and we finished up about 2.5 hours later. This was a great time to ride since there was very little traffic on the streets. Our trip was about 10-12 miles long, and we probably made about a dozen stops. The longest leg of the tour was 10-15 minutes, and there was only one hill (Beacon Hill), near the end of the tour. This wasn't too difficult to climb. Even though my wife and I have been to Boston many times (and she went to BU), we both learned a lot about the city. I highly recommend this tour! It was a lot of fun! Riding in and out of traffic was not difficult, and there were several parts of the tour through parks/bike paths to give you a break from street riding. We started on Commonwealth Ave. in the middle of BU, headed over to Fenway Park, then to the South End, Copley Square, Newbury Street, Washington Street, the Old State House, the North End, Beacon Hill, and then returned to our starting point via the Esplanade along the Charles River. One comment on parking -- the tour start/end point is fairly near Kenmore square, so parking could be hard to find (or expensive) if your tour is the same time as a Red Sox game. | ||||||

| My husband and I took the AdvenTours 2 1/2 hr bike tour around Boston and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. The location was extremely convenient, the staff at the bike shop was very friendly, and I can't say enough great things about our tour guides Andrew and Mike. They definitely knew a lot about the town, knew their way around extremely well, and made sure we had a fun experience! If we had more time I would have gone back again! I'd highly recommend them! | ||||||
