A unique and fun way of touring Boston
Mon, Jun 30, 08   10:00 AM rjyep4 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Garrett was our guide for this tour and he was outstanding. Since the tour was basically our family, we were able to set the pace of the tour. Garrett spent 3 hours with us and we were able to see the not only the popular sites but also things we would never have stumbled across on foot or on a bus/duck tour. Garrett is very knowledgable, especially about Fenway Park. And we enjoyed some of his off the wall trivia. We felt safe the whole entire time, even though we had biked with some aggressive Boston traffic. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Boston.

This tour takes in a few of the tourist sites, as well as some not-so-touristy spots. Great tour guides, great bikes and a great opportunity to meet some friendly travellers and locals.

mom and 13 year old son have a blast!

Highly recommend this way to get a better feel for Boston than you can get just by staying right in the downtown core. Ed, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, passionate and highly articulate in explaining at our various stops both the history and the architecture of Boston. The bikes were sturdy and comfortable and the pace just right. Even this out of shape Mom could keep up. Great way for kids to truly get a feel for this great city. We travel a lot in both the US and Canada, so when my distressingly blase son declared this "the best most awesome tour ever" we knew we had a winner!

Overall Good Experience

The physical bike ride and path was great - not too hilly, saw basically everything in Boston. The guide could have been a little more knowledgable about Boston. He gave good facts, but sometimes trailed off. I'm comparing it to the Freedom Trail tour guides, so maybe the bar was set high in my head. Possibly integrating headsets into the helmets so the guide can talk to you while you're riding may be a good idea.

I recommend this tour for anyone who can ride a bike. It was not difficult and there were frequent stops, perhaps to make the trip even more enjoyable we could have stopped for a cannoli!

We had a great time on our bike tour. The guides were friendly and informative. I was concerned about riding thru traffic with a 12 year old before the trip, but that was not an issue b/c we were a big enough group that cars had to watch out for us! (The guides did a great job of keeping us safe, too!) I was pretty sore the next day---should have done a little riding beforehand! I highly reccomend this trip. It was a highlight of our 5 days in Boston.

Great but not in depth

This tour is a ton of fun if you are happy just 'seeing' boston at face value. The tour guides no what they are talking about it is canned and obvious. If you paid attention to 5th grade US History you know what they pass on to you.

Wonderful bike tour and great guides.

I took the subway to the bike shop and due to unfamiliarity with the Boston subway system, got there about 5 - 10 min late. The tour had already left. I fully expected to be told "tough luck" but instead, one of the tour guides quickly set me up witrh a bike and helmet and rode with me by a back route that allowed me to catch up with the tour at their first stop. Talk about customer service. The people from AdvenTours are terriffic and the tour and overall experience was first rate and a bargain at the price. Thanks!

Saw Boston in a whole new way!

I wanted to do something other than the routine "Ducktour" or walking tour (even with costumed leaders), so thought I'd try the Adventour bike tour of the city. It was fabulous, mostly coasting, no significant exertion, and a great pace by our leaders. They were conscientious about our safety when we were in car traffic, and providing entertaining commentary to our scenic stops. The cost of the tour was reasonable for a "single", but don't know that I'd pay $200 for my family of 4. I would totally recommend this tour! Have fun!

Eco-friendly way to tour Boston and see sites off the beaten path. Our leader was knowledgable and enthusiastic. Our preteen son really enjoyed it and was never bored! Will do it again.

I've been traveling a lot to Boston for work, and I was going to have to stay over the weekend so I was looking for a tour. I read online that this was the 'best thing' someone had done in Boston, and I was really up for something different. This was by far the best thing I have done. There were about 14 in our group, and we had an excellent tour guide. It gives you a great chance to see all of the neighborhoods, plus you're getting a great workout at the same time. The owner of the bike shop couldn't have been more pleasant. If I have some free time again, I am definitely going to try one of their other tour routes. Thanks!

Great, fun way to see Boston

I was on my own sightseeing in Boston and this was the perfect way to meet some energetic, friendly people. The weather was fine and they provided water bottles. The tour guide was young and chatty so we were all able to find out loads about the history of Boston and get some good eating out tips! There were plenty of stops to take photos and i ended up knowing my way round the city better than the person i was visiting who is living there! I highly recommend this trip.

I had a tremendous guide and ride on an overcast day with only moderate traffic. I felt completely safe throughout as the guide placed himself between me and the traffic. Our pace was moderate and the ride was only strenuous in several hilly areas, though only for brief intervals. We rode briefly along the emerald necklace park area, in the Back Bay and South End neighborhoods of beautiful brownstones and small parks, stopped outside Fenway Park and the Christian Science compound, rode through Copley Square and stopped to see the Boston Public Library. Then on past some of the Freedom Trail sites, over oppulent Beacon Hill neighborhood and back to the bike shop through the parks along the Charles River. Later in my trip I returned to several of these sites to spend more time exploring. This was an informative and quite comprehensive introduction for a first time visitor to Boston. I'll be back, next time to rent a bike and go exploring on my own. Thanks!
