Perfect day of wind and fun
Sun, Nov 1  1:00 PM jrdungan Unspecified 70+ Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
The nine of us had a great time on the Adventure Cat. The water was flat and the wind fair. The boat is big enough to hold the crowd without crowding, and each of us had plenty of space, whether that was at the rail, at the mast , or on the trampoline.

It pretty much sums up this cruise. The nets up front on this catamaran (nah, funamaran) are about as adventurous as a cruise can get

Better than anything!

I have been on the other cruise, the Blue and Red I think and it was crowded and not nearly as nice as this catamaran. There is no noise from the MOTOR AND THE SAIL WAS JUST DREAMY. WE GOT CLOSE TO SHORE OF A SMALL ISLAND and loved this tour. No shouted facts just a wonderful soothing ride. The boat man willingly answered questions and was so low key and nice he made the trip perfect. We went out on October 29th 2009 and it just required a light jacket. If you needed more cover, they had it on the boat. So great with that beautiful sail overhead. My 10 year old grandson thought it was the best part of our trip and so did I.

This was enjoyed by all our family and was just an amazing way to see the bay and the golden gate bridge. I will remember it forever.

Hi, We invited friends visiting from overseas and our baby to sail and see the Bay from a unique and spectacular angle. We had enough wind to cut off the engines and just glide. We found the crew professional and friendly just like 3 years ago when I celebrated my soon to be wife's birthday. We will probably come back again when our son is a bit older and family is visiting. Thank you.

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and thought this was a definite highlight to our San Francisco romantic get-away. I would suggest the cruise to anyone. I felt safe on the cruise and had a magical time! This was much more personalable than other cruises offered on the bay. Thanks again!

I went on an AdventureCat cruise last year and it was great. This year I go another chance to make it to San Fran, and I knew that I wanted to go on another cruise. I brought my co-worker with me and we had a great time. Highly recommended :)

I found a recommendation for this sail in an online "avoid the tourist trap" article. After reading other reviews, I decided it was worth the time and money to give it a try - and I was not disappointed. Before we left the dock we were given a safety talk by the captain. Then, throughout the sail, he and the deck hands were very friendly and helpful, answering questions, pointing out good places to position yourself, taking pictures of groups, etc. When we left Pier 39 it was gray, cloudy, windy and cool, yet the 'cat cut through the choppy water quite nicely, simply porpoising up and down as it neatly moved ahead. First we went around Alcatraz Island, slowing to take it all in, then picked up speed and headed for the Golden Gate Bridge. Again the cat slowed for the bridge, then passed under the span to get very close to a beach on the marine highlands, where there were rocks active with pelicans and cormorants flying around and diving for food, and campers in the woods an on the shoreline. I got some great pictures. Coming back under the bridge the sun broke through and the winds eased, giving great views of various city skyline highlights, the Fisherman's Wharf piers and the Oakland Bay Bridge off in the distance. Along the way we encountered sail and kite surfers, sea lions, other small boats, large container ships, etc. I thought it was a perfect way to see the Bay Area, and would definitely do it again. At the last minute a friend came with me; she lives outside of San Francisco but had never taken this tour before - she is now recommending it to her friends and family. Definitely worthwhile, especially if you like being on the water - just do it!
