Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay

My husband and I love sailing, so when I planned a getaway weekend for his birthday, I knew this would be fun. We lucked out and had amazing weather as well! Captain Hans and the crew were all very friendly and capable and we had a lovely time talking with them during the trip.

Although the crew had no control over the weather (it was glorious), they did control the fast speed (12 knots), the area covered, and the friendly service below deck. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of sailing on a Cat, and I would go again anytime. Our safety was never a concern, so I can recommend this sail to any family. One suggestion: a small locker for the ladies' purses would have been nice.

Great time for adults and kids alike. Our 2 boys (age 6 and 9) loved the trip. We will definately do it again.

A fun and exciting way to see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the rest of the bay. Reasonably priced. A must do activity! You will not be disappointed!!!!!

What a way to see the Golden Gate....just magnificent! How many people can say they sailed under the Golden Gate....just loved it! Highly recommended! Purchased the tickets online and walked right onto the boat, easy.

don't tell too many people about this trip, it's such a great way to spend an afternoon. The guys who sail the boat are always great. Be prepared for cold winds but nothing you can't tolerate since the inside of the boat is nicely protected and they provide nice well kept warm coats for everyone to borrow onboard.

We had perfect weather and the sail was wonderful. if you want to actually sail in the bay, this cruise is great. However, I was very disappointed that no narration about the boat (aside from basic safety info) or any of the sights we saw, was provided. This excursion is labeled as a "tour" of the bay, which to me implies a tour guide, who will explain what we're seeing. If you ask the crew a direct question they will certainly answer, but nothing is volunteered. I could also have done without the 60's music in the background - the natural sounds of the wind in the sails and the bay itself would have been much more pleasant.

If you are in SF and looking to see the bay from the water then this is the finest way to do it. We had a great time and the crew was really fun.

I have chartered with AdventureCat before, for a large office team event, and so my previous positive experience with them led me to suggest taking my wife and son on an afternoon cruise. My wife is nervous on conventional mono-hull sailboats because they heal alot in the heavy SF Bay wind. The goal was to get her out on the water and have fun. She was very comfortable and had a great time, even though the wind was really blowing. I highly recommend AdventureCat. They are punctual, very safety conscious, and very welcoming to everyone.

great way to not spend a ton of money to enjoy the bay on a good weather day, its not too quick or too long and is worth wading through throngs of tourists at pier 39.
