My wife and I wanted to take a boat ride on the Bay and we had no idea which one to choose, so we googled (San Francisco Bay boat rides) and the adventure cat popped up first. The boat photo looked awesome, and the reviews were great.
The whole boat ride was relaxing. The other tour boat rides looked like the people were stacked together like sardines. I highly recommend going on this boat ride. We loved it.

We had a really great time on this sailing trip. It was really nice to sail around the bay and see the Golden Gate Bridge from underneath and see all the kite sailers. The weather was definitely cold, but the crew provided jackets to people who needed them, which was really nice. |

We did the Bay cruise on the Cat Adventure on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010; we were able to book it last minute on line with no problem. Disappointed because there were no discounts offered (Senior Citizen); I was with my sisters and my mother. We were really looking forward to this sail on our last full day in San Francisco. We got there way plenty of time as the confirmation said should be at the pier 30 mins. before departure. We got there early; there was one young couple waiting by the entrance to the pier dock; as the other sail (1pm) was arriving soon. There was no line; people were scattered all over from side to side; people were rude (esp. foreigners-particularly the French) pushing to get through once the gate to the dock was opened...the employee who was in charge had no organization whatsoever. (young blonde, wearing TOM boat shoes-red). I think if people pay this much for a catamaran sail; it should be a pleasant experience from the very beginning (from standing in line) to the end (getting off at the pier). We were not at all pleased with the organization from the young lady; if she gets paid for doing this, she is doing a horrible job. |

I bought tickets online for a 3pm Sunday Adventure Cat sail, but got stuck in traffic and arrived late. Rescheduling for 6pm was easy. It just took a quick phone call and an additional $15 per person to upgrade from the normal sail to the "Sunset Cruise" which includes 2 drinks per person and snacks on board that aren't included in the normal sail's price. Despite missing our scheduled departure time, we made the best of it by watching the Sea Lions and shopping at Pier 39 while waiting for the 6pm cruise.
We originally wanted to go at 3pm to avoid the famed San Francisco Summer fog, however by the time our 6pm sail set off, the fog had returned and it was quite cold and windy. One nice thing about sailing on a catamaran instead of a monohull boat is that the cat doesn't heel over. This was definitely a good choice for my new-to-sailing date. When we left the dock I was concerned it would be too cold and visually dull in the fog, however by the time we reached Alcatraz the fog and clouds were replaced for a while by clear sky and warm sun. Everyone came out of the cabin with their drinks on deck and it was quite comfortable. Beware the downwind bow rail as you're likely to get wet (as we did) from the spray if you stand there.
The views of Alcatraz and especially the Golden Gate Bridge are fantastic from aboard the Adventure Cat. All in all, it was an fun, romantic trip I recommend to anyone wanting to see San Francisco from the water without the noise and smell of a motorboat. |

My wife and I really enjoyed the laid back bay cruise on the Adventurecat! My favorite part was as soon as we got out of the harbor, the engines shut off, the sails went up, and only the sounds of the water could be heard. Simply blissful. |

Sailed past the Golden Gate Bridge. Turned off the engine as soon as we were out of the harbor, but had to use it a little bit at the end to return on time. |
