A group of 4 friends celebrating a special birthday had a wonderful time on the 1.5 hour bay cruise. The wind was chilly, but the breath taking views looking up under the Golden Gate Bridge were well worth it. Having a bar on board just made the experience even better. We enjoyed a cocktail inside, all the while marveling at the water, wind surfers, city skyline and Alcatraz. Truly a trip will take again. |

My family and I had a wonderful time on the Adventure Cat. I had been a couple of times before, with co-workers, and really enjoyed myself. This time my parents, my sister and her fiance, and myself and my boyfriend all went. It was really relaxing, and very scenic. It's a great way to see the city and its skyline, and see the Golden Gate. The music and the beer really added to the fun atmosphere. Thanks for the great afternoon! |

I have been out on the Adventure cat many times - with three generations of family, with my co-workers as part of a retreat day, and with a group of gals for the beginning of a bachelorette evening. The Adventure Cat has been a blast everytime. Everyone I've taken has remarked on how wonderful the cataman ride is - the smooth sailing and the closeness to the water. What a great way to appreciate the beauty of our Bay, Angel Island, the GG Bridge, the skyline. Perfect for locals and tourists alike. |

I'd recommned the Adventure Cat to anyone- locals or tourists, young or old, families or couples.
We booked the trip ahead of time and had no problems finding the boat at the pier. The boat accomadates about 90, but we were lucky to sail with a small group of around 20. On the boat, there's plenty of space to sit or stand outside. Or, if you prefer, you can enjoy the views from the inside cabin. The captain and two crew members were very friendly.
The trip lasts an hour and a half. You'll sail around Alcatraz, along the coast, and under the Golden Gate Bridge. The views are outstanding and there are great picture opportunities.
Keep in mind that it will get cold and windy! You're on a boat in San Francisco, not Miami. There are extra jackets onboard for guests use, but I recommend you bring a jacket with a hood to block the wind.
In the cabin there's a small snack bar that serves soda, chips, and has a decent selection of beers.
We sailed by several of the giant Blue and Gold fleet ships, packed with hoards of tourists. The Adventure Cat is a much better value and provides a more intimate, local experience. |

This is our second sailing experience on Adventure Cat. In 2003 we went for a Sunset Cruise and this year we opted to sail the Bay in the afternoon. We would strongly recommend both as highlights to a trip to San Francisco. The crew is friendly and professional. The experience is breathtaking, offering views of the city, Alcatraz, Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge. The entertainment value for the money is tremendous. We will certainly sail the Bay on Adventure Cat every time we visit San Francisco, which is at least once a year. Wear a windbreaker and long pants if you tend to chill...it is windy and can get cold, but it is well worth it! |

we chose thise cruise to get a more interesting view of the bay than we would be going with a bigger ship. This boat is a catamaran with a semi-protected cabin and lots of space to walk around. I think there is a capacity of about 35 people or so versus the 100+ that you might see on other boats. We had some concern with bringing our 3 year old on with us, but they have floor-to-railing netting all arounds the ship. It was not a problem for us to bring on our son and the captain let him drive the boat for a bit while we were out in open water. We had a great time talking with other people on the boat and enjoying the bay. The sailing we did went around Alcatraz, through the Golden Gate and then back to SF. We sailed almost the entire time - the engine was only used in the marina area. There were 2 crew members on board that were pretty laid back. They don't give a narative about the area that you might get on other boats, but there is some information posted around the boat about history of Golden Gate, etc. We recemmond this trip! |

My sister was in town visiting from Chicago so we booked the 1pm cruise - it was fantastic! Super friendly crew, fantastic cruise around the bay - loved the wind in our face and no petrol fumes! Some people need to get a grip - you're on a boat - yes, you might get a bit wet! The crew warned everyone that standing up in front would result in getting wet - heed their warning folks! The crew also provided jackets for those who came unprepared - I recommend dressing in layers - a tee shirt, then a long-sleeve fleece, and finally a water / wind resistant jacket or wind-breaker. We wore that and were very comfortable. Obviously long pants are a good idea - it gets really windy out on the water. This trip is marvelous - and a bargain at $25 bucks! Lastly, try to remember that the captain has no control over the weather - seriously, we heard people complaining about the fog - these people need to get real! I highly recommend this trip - it's well worth every penny and will probably be the most memorable thing to do in San Francisco! |
