Reservation process okay, but it would not accept a coupon I had from a tour guide. This was very frustrating and I never did get the discount.

Best way to experience San Francisco Bay!

As far as I know, this is the only boat that will take you out past the Golden Gate Bridge. It is an incredible experience, especially on a sunny windy day, like we had. I say this as an experienced sailor who has sailed through the gate many times while racing. The boat is very stable and no one in my group (non-sailors) got seasick. You can stay inside if you get cold, but for those that go out on the bow, the experience is unforgettable. If it is windy (and it probably will be, even if it isn't when you board) bring a full rainsuit with overshoes if you have it, and some warm clothes underneath. They have some jackets on the boat, but it was our feet and pants that got wet. Another recommendation: bring polaroid glasses, especially if its cloudy. These will allow you to see all the dolphins and sea lions just under the surface, and there are many. They have drinks and snacks on board, and the crew was very professional

Better than the other tours

This tour is small enough that it isnt crowded like the other tour that is offered at Pier 39. It's on a nice size boat that you have your own space to roam around. Great tour! They had jackets for people who weren't prepared like me. It does get cold once your on the tour!

We had booked this outing well in advance and were glad we did. The view from the Bay was just Awsome!! We had our 3 year old daughter with us and she just enjoyed the trip. The crew as amazing and very courtious. We would definately do it again and recomend it to anyone who wants to have a relaxing adventure away for everything else. Well worth the money we spent.

We had the time of our life, it was so much fun. We drove over the Goldengate that morning and sailing under it was awsome. I would recomend it for anyone any age.

Absolutely the best!

Maybe it was because it was a nice, sunny, breezy day on the Bay; maybe because it was a small group on the boat; maybe it was because of the smooth but exhilarating ride, or the phenomenal views of the City, of Alcatraz or the Golden Gate; whatever it was, it was the best money we ever spent on any tour ever. Worth every penny.

Really enjoyed the sail

Lisa and I had a great time on the sail on the Bay. Fortunately the weaher was great: sunny, moderate winds, not too cool. The captain and crew were organized, efficient, hospitable and courteous. We felt that we were well taken care of and never in any danger. Although it wasn't a deficiency, it would be nice if the captain provided a little information about the boat, the sailing on the Bay, the history of Alcatraz, details about the GG Bridge. I wouldn't want a full tour with constant chatter because it was nice that we had our own experience. But the SF Bay is so full of interesting information that a little now and then would provide nuggests for discussion. We will take this sail again and won't be disappointed if my suggestion is not adopted.

2 Trips with Out of town guests

My fiancee and I moved to the Bay area a few months ago. We have done most of the touristy stuff, but we had not gone sailing in the bay. My fiancee's monm is scared to death of conventional sail boats, so when I found Adventure Cat, I decided to give it a try. We love the liesurely sail across the bay, even her mom, and sailing under the Gold Gate was the best part. The second trip was a week later, when we took my fiancee's friend and one of my friends who is a long-time Bay are resident out. They both loved it as much as we did. The water was a lot choppier for the second trip, but AdventureCat just glides through it. We had hot chocolate for the first trip, as it was pretty cold, but the canopy blocks the wind very well. For the second trip, we all had beer, and they have a small but good selection of beer and wine. Don't forget to ask for a "frequent flyer card" 5 trips gets you a free one. We will certainly be making this a "must do" for all guests. AdventureCat Rules!

Great, relaxing tour

My wife and I really enjoyed the catamaran trip. It was quiet, relaxing, and laid back. We have taken motor cruiser trips and sail trips, and find that sail is much more enjoyable. The crew were very friendly, helpful, and informative. We enthusiastically recommend this to anyone wanting a comfortable, relaxing trip.

Quick and easy family friendly sightseeing trip

I have a 5 and 3 year old and enjoyed the boat trip. The kids thought it was pretty cool! We went in March so we preactically had the boat to ourselves. Great value for what we did. Wish there was a little explanation of what we were looking at. A tour guide with a couple of tidbits would of been nice.
