| Our sunset sail was a Sweet 16 birthday event for our daughter and 6 of her friends. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves very much. We especially enjoyed the middle bow of the boat as we headed towards Angel Island. The kids were thrilled, shrieking as they made their way across deck. Many photos were taken during our sail, which were fantastic because of the beautiful bay, islands and of course the Golden Gate bridge. We all headed down below deck for snacks. There was something for everyone, my husband even tried the brie and loved it! There was also some great music playing that enhanced the experience. The crew was friendly and protective of our party, since the kids spend most of their time near the railing looking out at the water. It was the perfect memorable event we hoped it would be. I look forward to taking my extended family and friends in the future. |

| I've lived in SF for 12 years, but somehow had never been out onto the Bay. Why did I wait? Who knows. But now I know who to go with: the Adventure Cat is a great way to get out and see our local treasure. It departs from Pier 39, so you cruise right past the sea lions. Having the sails go up overhead is thrilling, and the trip around Alcatraz, under the Bridge, and back along the waterfront feels like a real adventure. You can even sit on the mesh 'trampolines' out front and look straight down at the water while being bounced and splashed with the waves. It's also fine for more sedate people since there is seating indoors and in the stern. The only problem is that the seats are very low (almost at the water line) and the views are not so good. So this trip would be less good for people who don't feel comfortable standing or sitting cross-legged on the mesh up front. If I go out with elderly relatives I might take one of the other cruise options. For young people, or adventurous types, this is definitely the trip to pick.
Also, keep an eye out for dolphins as you go under the Golden Gate Bridge! |

| I have been ridng on the Adventure Cat for almost 10 years and every time I ride, it is just amazing. I feel this is the best tourist attraction value in the Bay! To take an hour and a half cruise out under Golden Gate Bridge at sunset with cocktails and light snacks is fabulous for $40+ per person. I try and get out on this boat evry time I'm in SF with my wife. |

| This was an extremely enjoyable sunset cruise. I can think of no better way to enjoy the Bay and to see the Golden Gate bridge up close.
There was no commentary to point out what we were seeing, but that didn't really matter to us; just thought I should point it out incase others want a guided tour of the Bay. I
suspect also that much of our enjoyment was due to the very fine weather we experienced - sunny, 80 degrees, water as calm as it gets - and that this might not be quite such a pleasant cruise in heavy fog, 60 degrees, choppy. Obviously that's not something the tour company can do anything about, but bear it in mind when deciding on the tour. The catamaran does have a well sheltered comfortable cabin which would be fine for poorer weatherm but the experience overall would not be so good. |

Group of Friends |
| I invited a few friends to join myself and a friend visiting from Ireland. We felt immediately welcomed and there was a joyful sense of commaraderie with our fellow passengers...a sort of "we're all in this together" vibe.
It was a beautiful, typical, San Francisco evening. The Bay was relatively calm but our Captain made sure we hit enough swells to make everyone go "Whoa!".
We were on the sunset cruise, with complimentary drinks and snacks. I managed the red wine without spilling a drop (until a friend backed into me), but I had trouble navigating the wine, my balance and the snacks. The snacks were a little bit boring anyway - of the chips and salsa variety - so I avoided them.
Besides, we weren't there for the chips and salsa - it was the fresh air, a chance to be under the Golden Gate, the sense of adventure for someone who spends most of her time on terra firma.
It was a great evening that I recommend to anyone with guests visiting the Bay Area for the first time. We followed our AdventureCat experience with hot Irish Coffees and a good meal - a perfect evening. |
