SF sightseeing essential

Our first Adventurecat cruise was a Christmas gift. This second trip was for my South Carolina relatives' highlight of San Francisco. The crew was friendly and helpful, the views courtesy of Mother Nature, and the memory-making experience worth repeating. We highly recommend Adventurecat for anyone who wants to see San Francisco from the best seat in the Bay.

A great way to see San Francisco.

The AdventureCat Catamaran ship was a wonderful way to take a cruise of the bay. I definitely preferred the more intimate size of the ship over other larger ships carrying a couple hundred tourists. The crew was very professional allowing me to relax and enjoy the view. The 90 minute cruise allowed plenty of time for pictures as well as time to enjoy the view with my husband. I highly recommend it!

Nice views, but too much engine used for this sail
Thu, Aug 9, 07   6:30 PM loismerkley6 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This is advertised as a sunset sailing cruise where the engine is used to get into and out of the harbor. Unfortunately, on our cruise the engine was used repeatedly, which took away from the sailing experience. There was not enough seating for everyone and many people were drunk and dropping plastic cups into the sea. The staff was courtesous and pleasant, and the views of the bridge were spectacular. Our family had a nice time on the evening cruise, but less engine would have made it a better sail.

Excellent trip

This was an excellent boat trip around the bay. The boat ride was very smooth considering how rough the water was on the bay. Lots of room on the boat. It didn't feel crowded and "touristy" like some of the other tours. The reasonably priced snacks and drinks were a plus too.

Our soccer group of 14 year old girls had a wonderful time together on the Bay Cruise, the moms also loved the scenery etc. A terrific group activity for teenagers and adults, and a good value with the group ticket price.

We had a wonderful time on this sunset cruise! My husband and I and our two boys (11 & 9) enjoyed the boat, the quiet of the sails, the wonderful scenery (Golden Gate Brige is amazing at Sunset)... My boys never came inside the cabin! They hung out on the front railing pointing at the scenery, and riding the waves on the netting of the Catamaran. The crew provided a nice assortment of snacks, drinks and even extra jackets (It does get cold out there.) which made for a wonderful evening. Have a nice bowl of chowder in a nearby resteraunt before you board to get nice and warm first...

Great way to view the City and Bridge

We had a great time on this cruise. I had read previous reviews before booking this cruise. Info I found very helpful was to go prepared with a jacket! It was quite windy but we were expecting this. The cruise itself was fabulous. We enjoyed the smaller sailboat type cruise over the larger boats with a lot of people. If you enjoy being on the water and smaller crowds, this cruise is for you. The views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge were excellent. A note on the drinks and appetizers...I read previous reviews with complaints on the snacks and drinks. We were going on this cruise to see the sites, not for the snacks, so we found the snacks and beverages to be a bonus! And they on top of that, they weren't bad! Happy Sailing!

Being unique and very reasonably-priced, this has to rank as the best-kept secret for tourists and locals alike who like the water and who are looking for a new perspective on the 'Bay....

It was a great sailing experience! The crew was very friendly and warm. The views were fantastic. We think the evening cruise is the best.

Very nice crew and boat

I liked everything from the flexability when I called to let them know to wait a couple extra minutes as we were running a little late. The extra jackets onboard were cozy. I felt all the crew members were friendly to me and my boys. It was great and I'm recomending it to my friends.

Great way to tour the bay, sail, be away from crowds, and hang with your kids - all at the same time. 90 minute sail is perfect amount of time.

Best Cruise on the Bay
Wed, Aug 15, 07   3:00 PM jthlax01 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
The Adventure Cat is a great way to cruise the bay. You are on a smooth sailing catamaran with a small group-much smaller than the big ferry's. Being on the sailboat, you are much closer to the "action". We highly recommend this trip!

The Coolest Way To See The Bay
Wed, Aug 15, 07   6:30 PM niallwatt Male 30-39 International Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
The trip was, quite simply, superb!! Sailing around ' The Rock' and under the Golden Gate Bridge is definitely the way to do it. And for those of us who can not afford to buy a yacht, or shirk at the costs involved in chartering, it is the only way to see it. No noisy engines, no noisy customers, no noisy kids running amok!! No annoying announcements from the 'knowledgeable captain' no nasal tour guide with a mic and a distorted seaker system. The cruise was for a nice manageable number of people. There were decent canapes available and enough cold beers to wash them down with. All in all this was a five star tour. We were lucky with the weather, we had blue sky and a good strong wind to fill the sails!!
