That was a rockin sail boat ride!

Enjoyed going out on that Cat immensely, It was a lot of fun. We saw some exquiste views of the Golden Gate bridge and the bay. The sailboat was spacious and not packed full of people, it almost felt like it was just my boyfriend and I on the boat. It was definitely adventurous. I only wished we coulld have stayed out a little bit longer and maybe gone out past the Golden Gate Bridge. But other than that loved it and it was one of the best things we did out there in San Fran!

This was a fabulous experience. From begining to end. The staff was very cordial in greeting us to start things off. The catamaran was well maintained. A fantastic night for sailing it was. The tour of the bay, under the Golden Gate Bridge, all of the sites, what more can be said. I would highly recommend this. We dressed for the ocassion and had no problems. We spent the entrie trip outside experiencing the event. We would definitely do it again.

Spectacular !!!

Absolutely amazing! Ours was a diverse group by age, from 21-60 years young, and we had a short 3 days in San Francisco. One was a wonderfully luxurious day with concierge service in Napa Valley (a $2000 day), a day in SF with the Sunset Cruise and the last day in Monterrey/Carmel. The unanimous agreement was that the Sunset Cruise was the highlight of the trip. The crew was most accommodating, the hors d'ouvres were yummy, the weather was ideal and invigorating...and the sights of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge were just unbelievable. Definitely a 5-star rating!

A great way to take in the SF bay

There are other ways to cruise around the SF bay - the blue fleet or the gold fleet - but a ride on the adventure cat is different and better for several reasons. First, its not as crowded as the other ones; second, you are much closer to the water since the adventure cat is a sail boat and sits very low on the water. The captain - Hans - lets you roam around his boat and you can even walk across the net that stretches between the two hulls of the boat. Directly beneath the net is the bay water. I recently took my brother and his wife on this ride and they enjoyed it every bit.

Wonderful Experience

We truly enjoyed our Sunset Cruise aboard the Adventure Cat Catamaran. Their team was professional and helpful. The cruise around Alcatraz Island & under the Golden Gate Bridge was breathtaking. Honestly, the price per person was worth every moment. Don't go for the food and wine -- it's not the highlight of the trip - but the view & cruise experience is so much fun, you won't care. We saw several people not appropriately dressed for the experience. Remember -this is a catamaran - you may get wet. You will absolutely get windblown, but that is part of the fun. Wear comfortable shoes so you can stand outside the entire cruise & absorb the incredible scenery. Very romantic and fun. I would do again.

Fantastic!

My sister was in town visiting from Chicago so we booked the 1pm cruise - it was fantastic! Super friendly crew, fantastic cruise around the bay - loved the wind in our face and no petrol fumes! Some people need to get a grip - you're on a boat - yes, you might get a bit wet! The crew warned everyone that standing up in front would result in getting wet - heed their warning folks! The crew also provided jackets for those who came unprepared - I recommend dressing in layers - a tee shirt, then a long-sleeve fleece, and finally a water / wind resistant jacket or wind-breaker. We wore that and were very comfortable. Obviously long pants are a good idea - it gets really windy out on the water. This trip is marvelous - and a bargain at $25 bucks! Lastly, try to remember that the captain has no control over the weather - seriously, we heard people complaining about the fog - these people need to get real! I highly recommend this trip - it's well worth every penny and will probably be the most memorable thing to do in San Francisco!

Went on the sunset cruise the end of August- and we were very cold- be prepared with a sweatshirt! The snacks were nice (veggies, chips, brie) and the cruise did as promised- went by Alcatraz and then under the Golden Gate bridge. Have fun!!

Excelent time had

I went on the cruise with my wife for the last day of our honeymoon. We had an excelent time and both reallt enjoyed the cruise. The two guys who took us out were both very friendly and allways willing to let us both get involved in a bit of the sailing. The sights were excelent, the only thing i must mention is that if you are looking for a trip with a guide who explains the local sights as you pass them this may not be the one for you as it is very much a cruise and a sail and not an info tour. Having said that i would recomend it to anyone as an excelent way to relax and enjoy an eveaning away from the chaos of the city.

No clue....

In August when I was researching activities for our first trip to SF, the times that showed up on the website for the sunset cruise said 6:30pm, so that's the time that naturally stuck in my mind. Somewhere around early September the time of the cruise must change. We showed up for a 6:30pm cruise & found it had left at 6pm. Upon closely reviewing the info after we'd missed the cruise, I see that it says 6pm on the eticket. However there's nothing that makes the cruise time pop out at the reader. Just want to help out future customers. Thanks!

Romance on the Bay
Sun, Sep 9, 07   6:00 PM fredarakelia Male 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
The sunset cruise was excellent. My girlfriend and I enjoyed it extremly and the captain and his crew were very curtious. We got a nice tour of the bay area with the city in the background, a trip around Alcatraz and under and around the golden gate bridge. If your looking for something to do that won't take up too much time, but yet is fun and relaxing I definately recommend the sunset cruise (especially for couples). Definately is a bargain!

a great way to experience the bay
Wed, Sep 12, 07   6:00 PM pattieduca Unspecified Unspecified Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
great crew, fun 1.5 hrs, beautiful sunset sail w/great photo ops of bay area and bridge @ sunset. we did a daytime tour boat last time w/a different company. this time, a sailboat sunset ride. the boat tour was more 'informational' w/a tour guide that spoke the whole time. the sailboat was more about the beauty of the bay at sunset, no tour-guide type discussion but friendly, accommodating, interesting crew. we preferred the sunset sail and would recommend it. you can stay inside, or out - and there were refreshments/drinks included in the price. the day boat ride was more like a bus tour on the water.

Great way to see the bay, Kid Friendly!
Thu, Sep 13, 07   3:00 PM stanner Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
we chose thise cruise to get a more interesting view of the bay than we would be going with a bigger ship. This boat is a catamaran with a semi-protected cabin and lots of space to walk around. I think there is a capacity of about 35 people or so versus the 100+ that you might see on other boats. We had some concern with bringing our 3 year old on with us, but they have floor-to-railing netting all arounds the ship. It was not a problem for us to bring on our son and the captain let him drive the boat for a bit while we were out in open water. We had a great time talking with other people on the boat and enjoying the bay. The sailing we did went around Alcatraz, through the Golden Gate and then back to SF. We sailed almost the entire time - the engine was only used in the marina area. There were 2 crew members on board that were pretty laid back. They don't give a narative about the area that you might get on other boats, but there is some information posted around the boat about history of Golden Gate, etc. We recemmond this trip!
