Mellow setting, felt like I was hanging out on a friends boat. Good length of trip, nice views, good price. Would do again-

A fantastic experience

I would highly recommend this cruise to any visitor to the Bay Area. The staff was very friendly, and the mood was very mellow and relaxed. If you enjoy photography, this cruise provided the perfect opportunity of capturing some of San Francisco's most popular landmarks on film (or memory card). The highlight was sailing underneath the Golden Gate Bridge close to time the sun was setting. Drinks and snacks are served onboard so help yourself, and take in the scenery. San Francisco Bay at sunset is amazing. Take the cruise and enjoy.

It was incredible fun!

A Golden Gate sunset cruise had been recommended to us by friends, but there was more than one to choose from. I had seen the large "mini-cruise" boats that look nice, but I wanted something a little different, something closer to the intensity of being near the water and nature. The CAT Cruise was the answer. Its a reasonably priced catamaran sailing cruise that takes you out into the bay, around Alcatraz island (what a place!) and under the Golden Gate bridge. The cruise was easy to find on Fishermans Wharf. The Captain and the small staff were friendly and accomodating. Feeling the wind in our faces and hearing the water rush under our feet an amazing experience. Seeing the San Francisco skyline from the perspective of the bay was one of the highlights of our trip. Drinks (great choices of beer!) and hor'derves were provided in the spacious cabin. Cameras and picture taking are encouraged. Dress WARMLY. It may be 80 degrees inland, but the temperature drops dramatically in the sailing breezes at sunset. I highly recommend the CAT cruise as part of any trek to Fishermans Wharf and SF. Have fun!

Amazing Views...Until the fog rolled in

The Sunset cruise with Adventure Cat was fantastic. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. The ship was in great shape (and the bar was well stocked). If only the fog hadn't closed in like some evil movie monster as we sailed towards and through Golden Gate. It was pretty neat hearing the conversations of the fog horns though. Highly recommended. The foul weather gear provided by the crew was a life saver.

Well worth the 40-some bucks!

You get a couple of drinks, along with a few various snacks, and you freely walk about a good sized sailboat without too much "intercom" banter that you often get with other boat rides. I enjoyed the time, and it was an overall seamless event. And the sunset view with the golden gate in the background is magnificent!

great service, fun atmosphere and all around good peoples. will gladly go on it again, but with everything in life it would bring more attention and customers if the price were a bit lower. but you would still be able to make a killer profit.

A great ride out on the Bay

Sailing on the Adventure Cat is really a wonderful way to be out on the water, especially if you don't mind being on a smallish boat, a little choppiness, and usually some strong winds. My wife gave this to me as a birthday present, knowing that I would enjoy it. I did -- it was way too short! We did the 3:00 sailing, which is a good time to go with the sun still up pretty high. I suspect the sunset sailings are quite a bit cooler as well as costing a lot more. If I could I would give this event 4.5 stars rather than 5 because it's a little expensive. Still, it's well worth the splurge even if you watch your expenses carefully the way we do.

Great for young kids

I was quite concerned that my 5 year old and 8 year old might not like this. Being from Denver, they've never been on a significant boat ride. Not only did they enjoy the trip, they've been talking about it ever since. The entire trip, although windy, was very stable, minimal splash (5 year old disappointed), the tacking of the sails was fun to watch, took lots of photos (8 year old: "Dad, take a picture, take a picture!") and the sail-driven, silent running was a joy, and without the constant narration of other tours. The kids even got to steer the boat going home. We will certainly do this again.

Loved the trip, hated the muzak

This was a really great experience for all six members of our group, ranging from 82 years-old to 8 years-old. The weather was great, which helped, although we needed and appreciated the fact that jackets were provided for those who came ill-prepared for the cold. It was also great to have beverage service on Adventure Cat 2. The only downside was the annoying and inappropriate muzak that was played throughout the trip. We love rock-and-roll, but HATED hearing it during this trip. Give us laid-back classical or give us no muzak at all--either would have made the trip FAR more enjoyable. We'd really prefer to give this 4 1/2 stars, but that is not an option.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed the cruise a great deal. The cruise was reasonably priced and very enjoyable. It was mid march so a little cool in the evening. I would recommend this cruise to any friends or family heading to San Francisco.

I took my elderly parents on this trip as having been on it before I knew it was a good way to see the bay, and the GG Bridge. Once again, it was a thoroughly impressive trip - I'd definitely recommend it.
