Great Sail!

I wasn't sure what kind of tour I wanted to take while in San Francisco, but I knew I was sick of walking! Sailing the bay around Alcatraz, past Sausalito, and under the Golden Gate Bridge was perfect. The weather was beautiful, the trip time was right on, and the price was right! I would deifnitely recommend this tour to my friends. Thanks!

The Coolest Way To See The Bay
Wed, Aug 15, 07   6:30 PM niallwatt Male 30-39 International Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
The trip was, quite simply, superb!! Sailing around ' The Rock' and under the Golden Gate Bridge is definitely the way to do it. And for those of us who can not afford to buy a yacht, or shirk at the costs involved in chartering, it is the only way to see it. No noisy engines, no noisy customers, no noisy kids running amok!! No annoying announcements from the 'knowledgeable captain' no nasal tour guide with a mic and a distorted seaker system. The cruise was for a nice manageable number of people. There were decent canapes available and enough cold beers to wash them down with. All in all this was a five star tour. We were lucky with the weather, we had blue sky and a good strong wind to fill the sails!!

Best Cruise on the Bay

The Adventure Cat is a great way to cruise the bay. You are on a smooth sailing catamaran with a small group-much smaller than the big ferry's. Being on the sailboat, you are much closer to the "action". We highly recommend this trip!

Great way to tour the bay, sail, be away from crowds, and hang with your kids - all at the same time. 90 minute sail is perfect amount of time.

Very nice crew and boat

I liked everything from the flexability when I called to let them know to wait a couple extra minutes as we were running a little late. The extra jackets onboard were cozy. I felt all the crew members were friendly to me and my boys. It was great and I'm recomending it to my friends.

A "best kept secret".

Being unique and very reasonably-priced, this has to rank as the best-kept secret for tourists and locals alike who like the water and who are looking for a new perspective on the 'Bay....

Excellent trip

This was an excellent boat trip around the bay. The boat ride was very smooth considering how rough the water was on the bay. Lots of room on the boat. It didn't feel crowded and "touristy" like some of the other tours. The reasonably priced snacks and drinks were a plus too.

Best Date Ever.

The crew was helpful and fun. I have seen the Cat's sailing on the bay in the past but never had a chance to take a cruise. We went on the sunset cruise and had an incredible time. The bay looks so diferent from on the water. The price was great and I would highly recommend the trip to anyone.

A Fun Spin on the Bay
Tue, Aug 7, 07   6:30 PM mattbe Male 40-49 Combination Group of Friends
The crew was very hospitable. The snacks were better than expected. The trip was just as brief as scheduled. The route did not offer much of a "sunset" view of the sun but it did show off the city in the light of the setting sun.

Sunset cruise - short on value
Mon, Aug 6, 07   6:30 PM rkohlstedt Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
I was expecting something a bit more memorable for a sunset cruise of the bay - especially considering the premium one pays for the evening trip. Turns out that it is just a windy, cold run around Alcatraz to the Golden Gate bridge and back to Pier 39. No one explaining what you are seeing - just a couple of guys driving the boat and one guy at the bar. There is also a selection of inexpensive appetizers - chips and salsa, bread and spinach dip, crackers & cheese, grapes, veggies, etc. They ran out of plates pretty quickly, so you had to use napkins, instead. It's popular - there were about 40 people for a Monday night sail - half huddled inside the cabin, the other half freezing outside. Just seemed overpriced at $45 to me. It was our first night in town and we thought that this would be special - my kids were definitely bored. I don't think that it will make the "top 10" list for our vacation.

Good experience, better in good weather
Sun, Aug 5, 07   3:00 PM ewg1116 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We had an enjoyable time. The crew was professional. It was unfortunately a 57 degree, drizzly day, so it wasn't the greatest weather for the trip. For those of us who really enjoy sailing, it would have been better if the engine had been turned off and the sailing maximized. Instead the engine was used for more than just docking and getting away from the dock. Given the wind direction, I had looked forward to the maneuvering that would be required to go under the bridge; instead, we just cranked up the engines.
