This is one of those "must do" things when visiting the San Francisco area. Whether you are old or young, the sailing experience is totally awesome!! The crew was very friendly and certainly quite knowledgeable about their superb well equipped sailing vessel and catered to everyone's needs and answered every trivial question that members in our party had. Once we got out into open waters, the sails were hoisted, and the engine cut, and the ship came alive being powered solely by the breezes on the SF Bay. We spent the entire journey out on the front deck and open weaved canvas netting - feeling and seeing the water rushing by directly under us. We sailed around Alcatraz Island, then under the Golden Gate Bridge. Now, THAT was an unbelievable experience I'll never forget. All too soon, our 90 minute voyage was over - but we will certainly return again and again when visiting San Francisco in future years. This was the highlight of our day in San Francisco for sure. So, what are you waiting for? You won't regret this trip!! I just wished we lived closer so I could do this every weekend!!

The cruise was ok nothing to go crazy over. I bought tickets online for sept 15 and the ticket company had me down for sept 14 so that was a little problem but we got on.

great san francisco outing

I have been out on the Adventure cat many times - with three generations of family, with my co-workers as part of a retreat day, and with a group of gals for the beginning of a bachelorette evening. The Adventure Cat has been a blast everytime. Everyone I've taken has remarked on how wonderful the cataman ride is - the smooth sailing and the closeness to the water. What a great way to appreciate the beauty of our Bay, Angel Island, the GG Bridge, the skyline. Perfect for locals and tourists alike.

Great way to see the bay, Kid Friendly!

we chose thise cruise to get a more interesting view of the bay than we would be going with a bigger ship. This boat is a catamaran with a semi-protected cabin and lots of space to walk around. I think there is a capacity of about 35 people or so versus the 100+ that you might see on other boats. We had some concern with bringing our 3 year old on with us, but they have floor-to-railing netting all arounds the ship. It was not a problem for us to bring on our son and the captain let him drive the boat for a bit while we were out in open water. We had a great time talking with other people on the boat and enjoying the bay. The sailing we did went around Alcatraz, through the Golden Gate and then back to SF. We sailed almost the entire time - the engine was only used in the marina area. There were 2 crew members on board that were pretty laid back. They don't give a narative about the area that you might get on other boats, but there is some information posted around the boat about history of Golden Gate, etc. We recemmond this trip!

Excelent time had

I went on the cruise with my wife for the last day of our honeymoon. We had an excelent time and both reallt enjoyed the cruise. The two guys who took us out were both very friendly and allways willing to let us both get involved in a bit of the sailing. The sights were excelent, the only thing i must mention is that if you are looking for a trip with a guide who explains the local sights as you pass them this may not be the one for you as it is very much a cruise and a sail and not an info tour. Having said that i would recomend it to anyone as an excelent way to relax and enjoy an eveaning away from the chaos of the city.

Nice experience

We had a group of 12 this past weekend, 6 adults, 3 children and 3 toddlers. It's a very nice cruise...very smooth. Depending upon where you stand/sit, you will get wet! For the children, it was very fun to sit and have the wind in your hair. For the little ones, it's a bit of a challenge since they can't really run around because it would be unsafe with the moving vessel. There's a good guardrail across the whole boat and the netting in the front of the catamaran seemed quite solid. The crew was very friendly and we had a good time. In the summer, out-of-town visitors completely underestimate how cold it can get with the wind, luckily, we were prepared with sweaters and jackets. Definitely would take out-of-towners on this again. The views of the Golden Gate bridge, the East Bay hills, the City and Alcatraz and Treasure island were fantastic.

Great experience for us and especially our kids. Our kids enjoyed the trampoline so much and were so excited to see the "Golden Gate Bridge" in a different angle. We wil definitely do it again when we come to San Francisco. Thank you so much for the helpful and polite staff.

We loved the Catamaran cruise!

We knew we wanted to do a boat ride and found Ådventure Cat on the internet. I'm so glad we did as we all loved it. My husband, myself, our 15 year old son and 12 year old daughter. The crew was great, the snacks were reasonably priced and they even had jackets to wear if you got cold. There's an inside area with many windows if you don't want to be outside. On the outside there's plenty of space to stand or you can sit on the webbing that is open to the water below. The sightseeing is great and we found 1.5 hours to be just the right amount of time. It does get chilly so dress appropriately and if you need a hat make sure it has a chin strap or else it will blow off. We've been on the big boat sightseeing cruises and we all agree that this one was much better than those. This is a must-do if you want to be on the San Francisco bay.

The BEST way to see the Bay!
Fri, Aug 17, 07   3:00 PM juliette0712 Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Sailing with AdventureCat was definitely the best time we had on our vaction in San Francisco. Traveling with two young children, we were worried the cruise might not be the right choice. It turned out to be wonderful! The kids had a great time sitting up front watching for sea lions and birds while the water splashed them from time to time. My husband and I sat down and relaxed with a glass of wine and soaked up the scenery. The atmosphere was so relaxed and the crew and passengers were all so friendly. Why would anyone choose to crowd into one of those other bay tour boats when they could stretch out on a catamaran? We will definitely choose AdventureCat anytime we find ourselves in San Francisco!

Best Cruise on the Bay
Wed, Aug 15, 07   3:00 PM jthlax01 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
The Adventure Cat is a great way to cruise the bay. You are on a smooth sailing catamaran with a small group-much smaller than the big ferry's. Being on the sailboat, you are much closer to the "action". We highly recommend this trip!

Great way to tour the bay, sail, be away from crowds, and hang with your kids - all at the same time. 90 minute sail is perfect amount of time.

Very nice crew and boat

I liked everything from the flexability when I called to let them know to wait a couple extra minutes as we were running a little late. The extra jackets onboard were cozy. I felt all the crew members were friendly to me and my boys. It was great and I'm recomending it to my friends.
