Best on the Bay

We've been on SF Bay Cruises before. This one is a cut above the normal. Being on a sailing cat with a smaller group and more individualized service was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Delightful Bay Cruise

We sailed on the Adventure Cat 7/12/07 from Pier 39. Wonderful cruise, close to two hours, out past Alcatraz, across the bay for a close look at Sausalito, then out under the Golden Gate Bridge. The three man crew was informative and fun without bombarding you over the microphone every second as the ferry tours do. The twenty five dollar fee was money well spent!

I went because my wife really wanted to. It was actually not too bad. Going under the bridge was cool.

Best cruise on the bay

Relatives were visiting from out of town and we wanted to take them for a cruise on the bay. We looked into the cruises with the ferry's and then I remembered taking a cruise on the Adventure Cat with a group about a year ago. I looked into the public cruises and decided that for a few dollars more than the ferries, the Adventure Cat would be worth it. We not only were right, but I'd underestimated how much better the Adventure Cat is than the ferries. While we could see the ferry packed with at least 100 people taking a cruise, we were enjoying the relaxing cruise on the Adventure Cat with only a few other people and the 3 crew members. So, to sum it up, if you're looking for a relaxing and enjoyable cruise around the bay, take the Adventure Cat cruise. If you're cheap and are looking to save a few dollars, enjoy being packed in like sardines on the ferry. In my opinion however, the Adventure Cat is the ONLY way to cruise the bay.

Quite windy in the open bay but still very pleasurable. Was able to get a number of good photos. 1.5 hours was just the right amount of time.

We had a great time and plan to return regularly. This is the best way to see the bay. Sailing out past the Golden Gate Bridge was very fun. The wind was up so the ride was exciting. The crew was very nice. The price is a real bargain for the experience. Don't go to San Francisco without trying this. Thanks for a great time.

The BEST way to see San Francisco Bay, period!

My wife and I have been on Adventure Cat several times now (and they recognize me every time, probably because I bother them so much about sailing stuff!), and we will continue sailing with them. Why? They love to sail, period! Once I showed up with a friend and no reservations on a cold, cloudy day. I asked how many passengers they needed to go out sailing, and they responded "One -- we love to sail!". (That was a great day on the Bay as well, maybe even because of the weather.) Another time we encountered a major sailboat race involving many different classes of boats, from individual ones up to huge high-tech behemoths with what looked like a crew of 20 or so. And we were sailing right in the middle of them -- way seriously cool! Oh, don't be worried if you are a bit apprehensive of high-performance sailing, because Adventure Cat is a catamaran, meaning it sails completely level, without heeling. Sure it gets a bit exciting some times, simply because that's the nature of sailing, but you never feel unsafe. Nor uncomfortable, since there is ample room inside out of the weather, and they even provide parkas! And did I mention the great bar they have, with amazingly reasonable prices? Anyway, I sound like a shill, but I'm not. Just a very satisfied customer who loves being on a good sailboat as much as these guys enjoy sailing one. Try it -- you'll love it!

A perfect trip to take out of town visitors on.

We were a group of 7, most of us are local, but we had some family in town and wanted to show them something different. It was a gorgeous day and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed themselves. One and a half hours is just the right amount of time and the views of the city, Alcatraz, Marin and the bridge from the catamaran were incredible. There are not too many people on the boat, so it feels intimate. I'd do it again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Francisco.

Awesome Music Unique adventure, not like a ship tour Comfortable environment and cool staff The route was beautiful The amount of time spent on the tour was just the right amount: 1 hr too short, 2 hrs maybe too long... 1.5 hrs was just right!

bad weather, bad food, but turned out fun

We went out on a VERY windy and cold day. The ride was so crazy that we were getting a little sea sick inside. We went outside and it was better to get some air, but still hard to drink and impossible to eat. We agreed that the food wasnt great anyway. When we tried the food inside, the salsa was bland, the chips were low quality--some kind of flavored Doritos--and the bread for the spinach dip was also obviously cheap and tasted bad. But we didnt come for the food. We ended up having a great time outside on the front of the boat and for a while when the wind calmed down, on the trampoline nets. It was definitely an adventure. Loved going under the GG Bridge. Luckily we brought wind breakers and gloves...I would recommend bringing these things on your website, as well as a warm hat; we could have used them. I would recommend this ride but would make sure to say "check the weather before." Although this can be hard if you are planning far ahead of time...and no one knows when the wind will be crazy. I think it would be much more enjoyable on a nice, sunny day. Also, the staff was great! Really nice guys, very helpful, cheerful...they were one of the best parts of the ride.

Great Way to Experience SF Bay

This is the second time I have been on the Adventure Cat. It is a great way to see Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge and it's much more fun than the ferries as you get closer to the action! It is also great value as you get some tasty nibblies and a couple of drinks as part of the package, you can also buy more drinks on board if you want. For those who want a bit of adventure try walking out of the nets but watch out if you are near the edge as you could get wet (I certainly did). Make sure you wear warm clothes as it gets very cold out on the water but there are some jackets on board to borrow if you need them. I would definately recommend this trip to anyone visiting San Francisco.

The bay was beautiful at sunset and the crew was friendly and helpful. The boat was clean and the food was fresh and good. I will do it again the next time I am in the Bay area.

We had an amazing time aboard the Adventure Cat! We highly recommend this trip for anyone looking for a romantic tour of the San Francisco Bay at sunset. The captain and first mate were kind and friendly. This was definitely a highlight of our week-long trip to San Francisco.
