Awesome! We're already planning for next summer.

Our ages ranged from 9 to 65 and everyone of us had a great time! No one even had a tinge of sea sickness. We're already planning on booking a time for next summer.

The BEST way to see San Francisco Bay, period!
Mon, Jun 25, 07   1:00 PM adventurebix Male 60-69 Local Family Without Children
My wife and I have been on Adventure Cat several times now (and they recognize me every time, probably because I bother them so much about sailing stuff!), and we will continue sailing with them. Why? They love to sail, period! Once I showed up with a friend and no reservations on a cold, cloudy day. I asked how many passengers they needed to go out sailing, and they responded "One -- we love to sail!". (That was a great day on the Bay as well, maybe even because of the weather.) Another time we encountered a major sailboat race involving many different classes of boats, from individual ones up to huge high-tech behemoths with what looked like a crew of 20 or so. And we were sailing right in the middle of them -- way seriously cool! Oh, don't be worried if you are a bit apprehensive of high-performance sailing, because Adventure Cat is a catamaran, meaning it sails completely level, without heeling. Sure it gets a bit exciting some times, simply because that's the nature of sailing, but you never feel unsafe. Nor uncomfortable, since there is ample room inside out of the weather, and they even provide parkas! And did I mention the great bar they have, with amazingly reasonable prices? Anyway, I sound like a shill, but I'm not. Just a very satisfied customer who loves being on a good sailboat as much as these guys enjoy sailing one. Try it -- you'll love it!

a force 4-5 wind!
Sun, Jun 3, 07   3:00 PM FredRosasco Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
The wind was a-blowin 20-25 mph and made for an exciting sail around Alcatraz, across the bay and under the Golden Gate Bridge. The large catamaran was stable and made for a relatively smooth ride. My wife, a non swimmer, was comfortable in the large cockpit taking pictures while my granddaughter and I were on the netting in the bow area. The crew was friendly, knowledgeable and ready to answer the hundreds of questions from the guests. I'd recommend the trip to all visitors to San Francisco.

A different and exciting Bay Cruise
Sun, May 13, 07   3:00 PM Degenkolb Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
This was a much smaller group than on the larger Bay Cruise ships. Being on a sail boat was much more exciting, especially when we were under the bridge and on the same level with the wind surfers. The only down side was that there was no commentary. It would have been nice to have an oral program.

Family Celebrates Birthday
Sun, Apr 15, 07   1:00 PM ckanderson Unspecified 60-69 Local Family Without Children
Our group of 5 included an 89 yr. old woman, our mother, who was celebrating her birthday and her two adult daughters and spouses. We took the trip from Pier 39 in SF. The crew was very helpful in getting my mother aboard the vessel in her wheelchair. The cabin area was very appropriate for a wheelchair person, able to move around to enjoy the sights. I had telephoned in advance to check wheelchair access and the company was very helpful and accurate in answering my questions. We enjoyed the journey--thought we were disappointed by the amount of time we were under power rather than sail. The beauty of this trip is to sail quietly around the bay--turn off the engine! We have recommended this trip to friends.

The Best!!!!

We have been to SF over the years for vacation. We were told about the Sunset Cruise from our daughter and she told us how she loved it. The sunset Cruise on San Franciso Bay was the best thing we have done and seeing the Golden Gate Bridge from below is awsome. The staff was nice and attended to our needs.

Memorable!

It had been a rainy day but about 30 minutes before our sunset cruise the sky cleared and it was a beautiful evening. My husband and I ended up being the only 2 customers who showed up! The captain and his helper were professional and cordial. They took us on our own private cruise! We enjoyed the beauty, the atmosphere---everything! It was definitely a memorable evening!

Go 'Cat! A wonderful experience!

I found a recommendation for this sail in an online "avoid the tourist trap" article. After reading other reviews, I decided it was worth the time and money to give it a try - and I was not disappointed. Before we left the dock we were given a safety talk by the captain. Then, throughout the sail, he and the deck hands were very friendly and helpful, answering questions, pointing out good places to position yourself, taking pictures of groups, etc. When we left Pier 39 it was gray, cloudy, windy and cool, yet the 'cat cut through the choppy water quite nicely, simply porpoising up and down as it neatly moved ahead. First we went around Alcatraz Island, slowing to take it all in, then picked up speed and headed for the Golden Gate Bridge. Again the cat slowed for the bridge, then passed under the span to get very close to a beach on the marine highlands, where there were rocks active with pelicans and cormorants flying around and diving for food, and campers in the woods an on the shoreline. I got some great pictures. Coming back under the bridge the sun broke through and the winds eased, giving great views of various city skyline highlights, the Fisherman's Wharf piers and the Oakland Bay Bridge off in the distance. Along the way we encountered sail and kite surfers, sea lions, other small boats, large container ships, etc. I thought it was a perfect way to see the Bay Area, and would definitely do it again. At the last minute a friend came with me; she lives outside of San Francisco but had never taken this tour before - she is now recommending it to her friends and family. Definitely worthwhile, especially if you like being on the water - just do it!

Lovely!

Well it was rather foggy when we went out so I was a bit disappointed. However it didn't matter - no sunset but it was so lovely and quiet out on the water. Only 4 people showed up for the cruise that day so we had the boat to ourselves pretty much! Good views of Alcatraz, Sausalito, Angel Island and of course under the Golden Gate was cool! Drinks were OK and food - chips, salsa, nuts, bread, artichoke dip, veggie tray were OK also. A lovely experience - I love sailing!

a great sail under the Golden Gate Bridge
Thu, Oct 8  3:00 PM tahoebyrne Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
My kids and I had a great time sailing under the bridge on the Adventure Cat2. It was breezy and brisk and I wished I had worn a wind breaker, but the sailing was exciting. Our skipper tacked very close to the north tower and then it was amazing to look up at the bridge as we sailed under and tacked again near a small beach outside the Gate. An added treat was the Blue Angels flying overhead (it was Fleet Week in SF) and at one point 4 fighter jets flew in formation just 50 feet above our mast, a spectacular finale! I would recommend this cruise as a unique way to see the Bay.

Nice Evening.

The adventure cat was great. I did find out later that we ordered 6 tickets and I was told that my order gve me a free cruise. Could I have purchased 5 tickets and then get a complimentary ticket? The complimentary ticket is nice, but not if you are from out of town.

Beautiful way to see the Bay.

Great ride, was over way too soon! Started out and returned exactly on time. I was surprised at how smooth & steady it was. Was very glad to see that the trip is completely under sail, except for immediately leaving & entering the harbor. The crew did a great job and there was an overall congenial atmosphere.

Outstanding cruise for the whole family
Sat, Sep 12  3:00 PM zervestreit Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We took the 90 minute AdventureCat cruise from Pier 39 and it was a lot of fun for everyone. The cat took 60 minutes to tack to the Gold Gate Bridge, then 30 minutes for a straight return. The crew was professional, the boat was clean and stable, and the 90 minutes was a great adventure for parents and kids alike. Highly recommended, much more fun than a motorboat cruise.
