We are a Junior Girl Scout Troop with girls in 4th - 5th grade. We were a little worried that the girls might get a little bored during parts of the trip. They were engaged for the entire tour. We did the homestead tour 1st, which was fun for them to tour the rooms and check out the activities kids their age would engage in. Next we completed the Farmland Tour. The bus was comfortable. I think we all would have enjoyed more time at some of our stops along the tour for shopping. Next we saw the Theater show. This was great and I think we all learned alot about the history and current issues for the Amish as a people. The show was very interactive with the audience. The Girl Scouts really enjoyed all the sensory effects! After the show we were able to sit down at the restaurant and then we did the horse and buggy ride:) The Amish gentleman who drove us was very nice and helpful and really enjoyed talking with the girls! We had a wonderful time and would definately recommend the trip to other Junior Girl Scout troops. I think the adults would like to come back and spend some more time shopping:) Thank you for an interesting and eductional experience! |

It was unclear to us where to go and the woman in the gift shop was the only person we could find to ask and she was unclear as well. Please inform all of your staff as we almost missed our tour due to her being unclear.. and not very friendly. The tour guide and tour were good.. the only negative was the wine tasting. I think a stop at a quilt shop explaning the meanings and extraordinary work of local quilters is better than wines that are not even made in the state of Pa. |

Enjoyed our tour. Our guide seemed to know personally the Amish we came in contact with; there seemed to be a very amicable relationship and mutual respect which made the tour most pleasant. |

Amish country was very interesting to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We were a bit disappointed by our tour guide - she was a bit senile and would lose track of her throughts when trying to explain things and drive at the same time. She also had a bad habit of pointing out the obvious ("Oh look, a cow.") She conducted the van tour which took us through Amish country as well as to some conveniently-located gift shops... The man who did the schoolhouse tour was much better - he provided us with a lot of information and knew a lot more about the Amish and Mennonite people. We felt that if we had done the schoolhouse tour and learned about the Amish through the male guide, we could have driven the countryside ourself without the van tour. |

It was good to do this activity on the day after our arrival. It provided a good orientation base from which to explore further. The guide was knowledgable and answered all of our questions. The bus was a good way to see the Amish farms.

The Combo deal was a great value. The first activity was a 2 hour bus tour with an informed tour guide that stopped at a Mennonite bakery, a farm where we saw how the Amish milked cows, saw their buggys and that had a quilt shop and, lastly, had a wine tasting. The guide gave us much information about the Amish and Mennonites as we rode along. Next, we saw a wonderful movie called, Jacob's Choice, about how a young Amish man's struggles to decide if he will join the Amish religion or not. Last on our tour we went through a set up of a typical Amish house that was on the property of the Amish Experience. After our tour we enjoyed the gift shop and resturant 'Plain and Fancy' on the property. We only had one day to see Amish country and we felt that this gave us the best experience we could get for one day. We had kids with us aged 6 and 9 and they loved it. |

I highly recommend the tour package. The tour guides were fun, friendly, and very informative. I learned a lot about Amish life and the difference between Amish and Mennonite practices. I plan to go back again and bring my family. |
