The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The drive through the fields was very interesting. In general, we had a wonderful experience and it was everything we expected.

My husband and I went on the tour on Friday November 10th. It was a lot larger bus tour than I expected. A lot of what was said were things I had read up on my own, however, we learned a lot of new things. We got to see children at play outside of their scholl houses, homes, and farms. The first of the two stops we made was our favorite. We got to go to an actual amish farm and shop. They were selling hand made quilts and quilted products, food (DELICIOUS) and we got to see a father and his sons at work in his furniture making shop. The movie experience and the tour of the home were really neat. We learned even more and gained even more respect for the "plain people" as they were often called. We REALLY enjoyed these. The only part of the actual bus tour we did not like AT ALL was the stop at the winery. My Husband and I do not drink. We were told there would be grape juice for those of us who do not drink, and when we asked they said they did not make juice. It was also not a "normal" wine tasting (at least not like the one I went on during my study abroad program in Greece). People just went to the counter and got a thimble full of wine. There was NOTHING for us to do there and not much to see from the parking lot either. I am sure a lot of people may be drawn into the tour for this, but this was the WORST part of the whole day. Other than the wine tasting, the day was great overall. We got a lot of hours worth of things to do and got to learn. Our favorite part of the day was the actual interaction with the Amish family. We probably wouldn’t do it more than once (unless we go again with family that has never been) but it is a great tour to do if you do not know the area or want to learn about the culture. The tour also gave us a lot to do and see our other days there, since we had been “oriented”.

We totally enjoyed this tour. It was informative and interesting. The guides were well informed and answered our questions with enthusiasm . We especially liked the guided tour of the farmlands because that with the guides insights gave us a very clear idea of how the Amish live and work. We had been years ago to the same area but did not go on a tour and we felt that we did not get such a true picture of the Amish way of life. The movie was also well done. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in learning about the Amish.

We took the super saver tour package, and felt if was worth the trip. Although many people feel they can just drive around and look at things, we got a good overview of Amish life, how to recognize Amish homes, etc. We stopped at 2 shopping placeson the bus portion, one of which was a wine tasting place, which we found strange to be included, and had not been mentioned in the brochures. We felt it was generally a good value if you are short of time and want a thorough overview of Amish life in that area.

Had a nice tour on Saturday. Our guide was very knowledgable and friendly. We enjoyed the stops along the way. We're thinking of ordering some of the wooden gliders (rockers) that we saw that were handmade --everyone was very helpful. Thanks!

A group of relate aduts attending a local relative's wedding had an afternoon to explor the Amish life. We chose this venue and was rewarded with an informative three-in-one tour. The bus tour provded an interesting insite into daily Amish life with stops at interesting local shops. The movie provided an insite into a teenager's angst about choosing to continue with a "Plain life" or venturing into the outside, "English" life. The tour of the farm house provided a view into the life and surroundings of an Amish person. We followed the three-in-one tour with a delicious meal at their restaurant.

This review is being submitted by Elisabeth Jewell, wife of Edwin Jewell. The Amish Experience was enlightening and very enjoyable. The only thing I would recommend is that they allow more time for the Amish Homestead tour. We were rushed through and not allowed to ask all the questions we had. Also, our particular tour guide had told us we could take a break between the movie and the homestead tour. He told us he would come to the area we were in to meet us, but instead, he went on without us. We had to go back to the ticket counter, to find out where our group was and someone had to take us to them. Needless to say, the tour guide was already almost through with his discussion of the Amish kitchen by that time. I felt like we were cheated out of this part of the tour. The bus tour was very nice and our guide was quite knowledgeable about the Amish and Mennonite people. Be sure to find out if you are scheduled for the Amish experience on one of their holidays. This was the case, unbeknownst to us when we purchased our tickets. There were very few Amish people out doing anything. The bus tour ended with a wine-tasting at a local wine gallery. I do not feel like this had anything to do with the Amish and wish it had been left off the tour. We really enjoyed stopping at the Amish farm and the Amish country store and bakery. Overall, it was a great experience and one I would recommend to anyone interested in the Amish way of life.

We went on the bus trip tp learn as much as we could about the Amish. It was a good trip but why was so much time spent on the narrators dumb jokes? We wish he would have told less jokes and more about the Amish.

We ehad a great time with this package. The theatre experience is something to see on its own, but the homestead was also very interesting. The bus tour was easily the best part, however. Our driver and guide were very familiar with the area, and seemed to know something about each of the farms we passed. We were made to feel very much at home.
