Well worth the time to participate in the two-hour tour. Take this first, then do your own local touring. |

The Trip to the amish country was a different experience in itself. Quite different from the routine boring thing of going to places and viewing landscapes.
It gave us an insight into a different culture and how it may be possible to live without much craving for the goodies of today. The idea that "change for the sake of change is not required" is very much pertinent in their lifestyle and communicates well to the viewer. Also, it goes a step further towards achieving the goal of self-realization for the individual.
The amish have also excelled monetarily with their way of life and have contributed greatly to the service sector. What better an inspiration to the masses to be able to do all your work yourself without having to rely on anyone else's help. |

My husband and I found the tour enjoyable and educational. The tour guide was pleasant and provided a great deal of interesting information. She was very willing to answer any questions we had. The bus was comfortable. We liked the stops along the tour. I am not quite sure, however, what the winery has to do with the Amish community. The theater production was very enlightening. Being in the homestead helped give us the feel of what Amish family life is like. |

The bus tour was very interesting and informative. The tour guide knew her stuff and I learned a lot that I didn't know about the Amish. We made three stops. The first was at an Amish/Mennonite bakery (YUM!). The second was at an Amish farm/store (be sure to ask about the "quillows"). The third was for some wine tasting at a place that has delicious and affordable "different" types of wine. Overall, this part was great.
Next we went to the Amish experience theater. The "experience" part was pretty cool, but the video could have been a bit more interesting. Some of the facts I had already learned about repeated itself. Overall, it was kind of corny.
Lastly, we took the tour of a replica Amish house. Again, we learned a lot of things we had already, but it was still interesting, particularly because of the funny tour guide.
I'd definitely recommend this package, especially to anyone who has never been to Amish country before. |

I went on the tour with my 21 year old daughter. We both thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, would recommend it, and would be very happy to do it again. |

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our "Amish Experience". The activities were great; the tours were perfect in length, extremely informative, and a fun time. We truly appreciated the opportunity to enjoy learning about the Amish culture in such a welcoming, comfortable environment. Thanks! :)

We really enjoyed the tour very much but wished we had alittle more time at each of the stops that we made. Felt very rushed at those two places. Really couldn't enjoy looking at their craftsmenship or talk to the people either. Other then that I highly recommend the tour for others to attend. The movie and house tour were very enlighting. Learn alot more about the Amish life style. Thank you very much for offering these tours for people like us to enjoy. S Allen |

Family of 3 with 14 yr old decided on the supersaver tour package hoping to have an enjoyable Amish "experience" that was to include a 40 minute movie, a visit to an Amish "homestead" and then a bus tour of Amish countryside and farms. The movie was NOT worth the money. It was brief and visual quality was lame. The Homestead was a mock Amish home sitting right on the restaurant premises. Tour group was packed into the house (homestead) and walked through rooms that were small and not very interesting. This too was overpriced. The bus tour was the best and was informative enough without having to see the "movie" or tour the "homestead". The last stop on the bus tour however had nothing to do with the Amish. It was a wine-tasting stop at a local wine merchant. Not such a good idea with kids along, even though they were offered grape juice as they watched parents guzzle and gush over the 4 sweet wines that were for the tasting. And our wine taster hostess was a bit too "flaky" for our liking. Save your bucks and just do the bus tour, knowing that it will end with the brief wine-tasting stop. And afterward, go into town and eat elsewhere. |
