Absolutely loved this tour. Gave so much info on the day to day lives of the Amish.
I thought the bus tour was very nicely done with a guide that was so knowledgeable.
I would highly recommend it for all ages. |

We really enjoyed this tour. It was a very well organized presentation. This is a great "all in one" overview of the Amish. While there isn't any one place that can ever encompass an entire way of life, this is the closes anyone has ever come. I would highly recommend this tour for your first day in the Lancaster areas as it will answer many of the questions you will have about things you will see during your visit.

The tour of the Farmland was OK. It was on a Motorcoach driving around the area where the Amish live. The tour made three stops. Two at stores owned by Amish and one at a winery. The first Amish store stop was a waste of time. It made us feel the tour was about bringing the tourist to spend money on Amish made products. The second Amish store stop was better since we got to see the carriages closely and got to see a Barn. The winery stop was not needed. The wines were not good and it made us feel that we were being pushed to buy the wines.
It was worth going on the Farmland tour in order to see the farmland where the Amish live. Otherwise, we would have not known our way around to drive ourselves. If you are not interested in seeing the Amish farmland then don't bother with the Farmland tour.
The Amish Experience theater was AWESOME and VERY informative. This is definitely worth the price of admisssion. Good job on whoever put the movie together.
The Amish Homestead tour was also great. It gives you a clear vision on how the Amish live inside their houses. The tour guide was fabulous. Unfortunately, we didn't get her name.
In conclusion, one thumb up to the Farmland tour and definitely TWO THUMBS UP for the Experience theater and Homestead tour. |

My husband and I were thoroughly fascinated by the Amish lifestyle. We both grew up Christians on farms in rural America in the 40's and 50's, so we could identify with them to some degree. (I have German ancestry, as well). We enjoyed the visits to the farms and the tour of the farmhouse as well as the movie about Jacob. |

The whole package was incredible and worth every penny. my tour guide was brilliantly educated and we were able to pick his brain regarding every fact and question we had about the amish. he was insitefull and polite. the bus was nice and clean, and airconditioned well. everyone got along on the tour and the stops were one surprise after another. what made me even more appreciative was going to a different place that also had a home tour and farm about the amish, and they were blown away by the experiance i had with the amish farmlands. i had to correct my tour guide evey time she gave out wrong information, simply based on the knowledge that i had recieved the day before. i cant wait to go again!! |

I feel I've gained a knowledge of the Amish people that will prove invaluable for the rest of my life. I so appreciated the lady (don't know her name!) who introduced the theater show and did the homestead tour ... she knew her facts. I enjoyed the bus tour, but found it difficult to understand all the words of the tour guide on that one. The bus driver was very kind and sociable with the participants. The ladies accompanying me wished for a slower drive for better photo opportunities, but we realize you can't do it all!
The one thing I could have done without on the bus tour was the wine tasting event. I much rather would have visited a winery to be shown the process of the making of the wine! Just a personal preference, I'm sure.
The Amish View Inn gave the very best service and is a beautiful place. The breakfast, as well as the dinner meal we enjoyed at the Plain & Fancy Restaurant were both outstanding.
I can highly recommend this tour to others. |

The Amish Farmlands package deal was great. The three activities provided distinct insights in enjoyable, varied formats. This package was the best part of our two days in Amish country. If you just want to shop and gawk, you don't need these activities. If you want to understand the Amish, this is probably the best way to do it. |

The activities were better than we thought they might be. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He answered all questions and made us feel as though he had a personal relationship with the Amish people. The dairy farm and cannery were interesting, and we especially enjoyed talking with the dairy farmer's wife. The wine tasting was OK, but didn't really seem to fit in with the rest of the tour. I am still not sure of the connection there.
The movie was informative with interesting special effects.
The tour of the Amish homestead was my favorite thing. Joseph was an excellent guide, explaining many customs and daily life in detail. He was very knowledgeable.
I was impressed that the tour, etc., seemed to try diligiently to offer a realistic picture of Amish life without making a spectacle of Amish culture. My husband and I are still talking about our trip to Pennsylvania Dutch Country. It is one we will never forget......thanks to the great folks at Plain and Fancy Farms. |
