Relaxing But Uneventful

| My primary reason for wanting to take this cruise was the excitement of seeing animals in the wild that would otherwise not be seen as was advertised. While I understand that is not something that can be guaranteed, I was hoping to see at least one animal of any sort, however, we saw absolutely none.
I also thought it was a bit overpriced. |

| Initially shopping for a "weekend getaway" to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thought of going up to Lake Powell, but that is now closed for the season. Sought assist from our AAA Office. Surprisingly, they had nothing to offer or suggest??
Searched (Online) next and discovered Website for the Twilight Dinner Cruise at Canyon Lake. Extremely pleased with our choice to celebrate our anniversary this way for the evening. Even though we did not find "a weekend getaway."
Certainly it gets darker early at this time of year. Enjoying the sights is limited, even though the Captain narrates. Then again, it's a (Twilight dinner Cruise) not their Nature or Rainbow Cruise during the day.
The Captain, crew & staff made us feel as great guests. Tableclothes & napkins with candle at the table. A special, well-planned & prepared dinner. Other services too.
I told staff to have a Representative make contact with AAA out here..... I do not understand why they have nothing to pull up or recommend such as this in their data base. Unless the AAA agent was lazy and didn't help us with a search?
Dolly Steamboat also offers a AAA Member ticket discount, which was $3.00 each.
I called their office to get the code to enter for the Online purchase. This trip for us from Surprise, was two hours. Guess, I've said plenty. Thanks again. |

| This twilight dinner cruise on the Dolly Steamboat was much more enjoyable than expected! We had been given tickets as gifts last Christmas by one of our sons and his wife; however, kept putting off the experience as we were busy with other things. We finally arranged to go last Saturday evening. We found everything well-organized and the crew very friendly and accommodating.The buffet -style meal was excellent. Because we are an older couple, one of the crew members offered to go down to the lower deck and bring our food up to us! Later, we learned that this thoughtful person was filling in for another crew member who could not work that evening, and that he was the alternate captain! We visited with him somewhat during the cruise and learned a lot about the history of Canyon Lake and the surrounding area. We are looking forward to taking this cruise again in the near future. |

| The cruise was pleasant, and the food fine. It would have been much better if the cruise had started an hour earlier. We went in November and the sun set an hour after we left so we spent most of the time in the dark. It would have been much more enjoyable if we had gone at a time of year when the sun was out longer or if there was a full moon. That way the we could have seen more of the canyon. |

| If you're looking for something scenic or relaxing or romantic - or all three - then this dinner cruise is a must. The staff is great, the lake is beautiful and quiet. It's the perfect ambiance whether you're with friends or on a date. Highly recommended. We will definitely do this again. |

| My girlfriend of 10 months gave me huge brownie points on romance for taking her out on the Dolly Steamboat. The setting was really nice. We left as the sun was setting so that we could still see some animals out and about. There were also some notable rock formations to look at.
The food was good as well and the portions are nicely sized, it's doubtful you'll still be hungry after eating. The green beans were especially good as was the steak. As the boat turned around and it got darker, you could see more stars in the sky. We just kicked back and looked up at the sky. Outside seating is highly recommended by me, that way you get an unobstructed view of the beautiful canyon.
It was a really great experience, granted it is a little pricey, but how often are you going to do something like this? Something that was even better about the cruise was that the captain thought we were on our "anniversary" for some reason. He announced Happy Anniversary to us as he said my last name.
He really messed up my last name, lol, (it's an Asian last name, so not too unexpected). I didn't even know he was talking about us at first until he nodded his head towards our table. Then as we got off the boat, he apologized for the bad pronunciation of my last name. Hilarious. So now it's a running joke between me and my girlfriend.
An overall wonderful experience. Even the drive there and back was really nice. |

| Night started out with some sun creating some nice shadowing in the canyons. As the night went on got darker and the stars started coming out. Food was excellent and cooked very well. Lots of flavor. Nice dessert. Crew was pleasant and lots of fun. Overall a great evening. |
