Dolly Steamboat offers a mini-vacation aboard an old-fashioned sternwheeler. We cruise secluded inner waterways that are only accessible by boat. The Dolly Steamboat carries on a tradition of tour boats on a scenic desert lake that started back in 1925.

Join us for our annual Christmas Caroling Cruise aboard the Dolly Steamboat, a Mark-Twain-style double-decked sternwheeler! Friends, family, and loved ones will enjoy the natural beauty of the Tonto National Forest as the Dolly, decked out in full holiday decor, cruises along the waterways of Canyon Lake.
During this guided tour you’ll enjoy:
- Listening to and singing Christmas Carols
- Visiting and taking pictures with Santa Claus
- Sipping delicious hot chocolate and apple cider
- Munching on scrumptious cookies
Sit back and relax while you take in the breathtaking flora and fauna of the “Junior Grand Canyon.” Highlights include:
- Desert Landscape – Palo verde, mesquite, creosote, tamarisk, sage, desert brittlebush, and prickly pear cacti
- Wildlife – desert bighorn sheep, mule deer, white-tailed deer, coyotes, javalina, ring-tailed cats, bobcats and mountain lions
- Birds of Prey - Bald eagles, falcons, hawks, vultures and many other species to catch your eye
Stick around after the cruise to watch Canyon Lake’s Annual Parade of Lights! Approximately 20-40 boats (including the Dolly!) will circle the lake all decked out for Christmas with lights, decorations, and displays. The decorations will be judged at the Canyon Lake Marina. The parade begins at 6:30pm, and it’s free to watch from the waterfront!
The Dolly Steamboat is a fun, relaxing way to get an up-close view of the Sonoran desert. Don’t miss the boat!
