FUN AND RELAXING!!!
Sun, Sep 23, 07   12:00 PM rogergoins Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
We took the 12 Noon trip which was an ideal time because of the mid day lighting. Trip was peaceful and pace was slow. It was almost like taking a hot air balloon ride because of the gentle changing of the scenery--great panoramic views. Enjoyed the narration which gave just enough history and background to appreciate the surroundings. Lunch at the Lakeside Restaurant overlooking the dock was excellent, also. We almost took a cooler of sandwiches, etc., because we did not know if there would be a place to eat that served OK food. We would go back to the restaurant --and, of course, to the boat ride.

Dolly Steamboat - Highly Recommend

I have done the Dolly cruise about 6 + times. Whenever I have guests visiting, the Dolly is a MUST DO in Arizona. The cruise is very relaxing and informative, plus Canyon Lake is very beautiful. I never get tired of it and my guests ALWAYS rave about the cruise later to their friends. My visiting friends have come back to Phoenix with their friends and took them on the Dolly! THIS IS A MUST SEE if you are visiting the Phoenix area as it shows the beauty of the Arizona Sonoran Desert.

The Beauty of Arizona's Landscape...
Fri, May 11, 07   12:00 PM Silvestre Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
as we have seen through the Dolly Steamboat as she slowly took us through the gorge of the Canyon Lake. We had the unique opportunity to see a portion of "The Diamond In The Rough" that is Arizona. It was four separate occassions that I went on the Dolly Steamboat, taking my visitors from Guam to see the magnificense of the landscape and it's charming beauty. All are impressed and at awe at the scenery... I will continue to take my visitors there...The Canyon Lake.

slow paced

The scenery was beautiful, but the ride was short. The music they play can put you to sleep and I found that most of the folks on the boat were well into their senior years. I'm a senior but prefer a younger group with more life. It's ok for the laid back but if your full of life it's too slow. Not sure it was worth the money. Wouldn't do it again. The ride to Canyon Lake was very nice though. I'd do the ride through the mountain again. Sorry, was somewhat boring for me and my guest. The boat only went 3 miles and turned around, not very far at all.

A Fall Ride on the Dolly Steamboat

We sat on the top level outside and it was a beautiful fall day. The trip was wonderful. Captain Tom gave a very informative and fun narrative about the lake, the animals and all the area around Canyon lake. We had a very relaxing, informative and fun cruise on the Dolly. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Great way to spend some time seeing Arizona scenes

I enjoyed it. I talked to a lady who had gone on the star-gazing one and she highly recommended it. I would say don't sit in the sunny top chairs -- it got too hot!! (it was 91 degrees that day on Nov. 5, 2009). The rock formations and history of the area were interesting. We also enjoyed having an early lunch at the Lakeside Cantina.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE BEEN ON THE DOLLY, THE FIRST TIME IT WAS WAY TO HOT, BUT I HAD FAMILY HERE SO WE WENT. I JUST TOOK FRIENDS FROM MICHIGAN THAT WAS VISITING AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. I WILL NEVER AGAIN GO IN THE SUMMER, DON'T CARE WHO IS HERE! THIS LAST TRIP WAS THE BEST. IT'S TOO BAD THEY CAN'T SOMEHOW INSTALL A MISTING SYSTEM ON IT FOR THE HOT TRIPS. ANYWAY I LOVE SHOWING THIS WONDERFUL STATE OF OURS TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I WILL BE GOING AGAIN WHEN MY FAMILY IS HERE IN FEBRUARY.

Learned Something New
Sun, Oct 25  2:00 PM schmidtwks Female 60-69 Local Group of Friends
The lake was wonderful to just sit back and enjoy. Even after coming up to Canyon Lake with our own boat for the past 39 years, I learned some new facts about the lake and saw some new formations I had never noticed before. Our group is considering doing an evening dinner cruise in the future.
