| We did the cruise on September 17, 2007. It was a beautiful day and the cruise was truly delightful. It was a peaceful ride down Canyon Lake. The captain was a knowledgeable guide. |

| People are amazed when I take them on the Dolly. They have no idea such beauty in nature resides so close to Phoenix. Even the drive out is spectacular.
This tour of Canyon Lake is probably the best local attraction, hands down. |

| Trip was well worth the 1 1/2 hour drive from N. Phoenix and New River, Az.
Scenery was beautiful and screne. Wished we had seen some critters along the way. Would take the dinner cruise next year. |

| I took out of town guests from Wisc. & Florida on the Dolly. It was the highlight of their travels. As always, Canyon Lake was beautiful, TOM was a great narrator; the trip just isn't long enough!!

| We took the 12 Noon trip which was an ideal time because of the mid day lighting. Trip was peaceful and pace was slow. It was almost like taking a hot air balloon ride because of the gentle changing of the scenery--great panoramic views. Enjoyed the narration which gave just enough history and background to appreciate the surroundings.
Lunch at the Lakeside Restaurant overlooking the dock was excellent, also. We almost took a cooler of sandwiches, etc., because we did not know if there would be a place to eat that served OK food.
We would go back to the restaurant --and, of course, to the boat ride. |

| Our family all enjoyed this cruise on Canyon Lake. The views were incredible and the music and narration added to the afternoon. This is a great way to see the lake and learn about how it came about. We are sure we will be back because seeing this again during a different season would be so interesting and the beauty of the desert is so very relaxing! |

| The ride was wonderful. The weather was perfect. Of course it didnt hurt that it was the last week before the lake was drained so the food and candy was cheap. the kids loved it. I'd like to try that dinner cruise next. |

| We enjoyed the beautiful overview of the lake while dining at the Canyon Lake Restaurant just prior to our ride aboard the Steam Boat Dolly. Ordering our tickets in advance ensured us seats and streamlined the process once it was time for our tour.
We chose to take the 2:00 p.m. tour and found it to be much less crowded than the trip scheduled before us. Most people chose to sit at the top of the boat for a much better view, however we had a guest who used a wheelchair and so we settled in cofortably in the lower half where the snack bar is located. This provided a comfortable setting out of the sun and wind, and as long as we were able to get close to the windows we too had a spectacular view.
The Captain was very knowledgeable and pointed out many points of interest; he was also witty which added a laugh or two along the way. The snack bar assistant was gracious to all she served and the children as well as the adults enjoyed partaking in the goodies (candy, chips and soda)
This was our second time aboard the Steam Boat Dolly and will surely not be our last. We are already planning to return again next year and will bring our parents and grandparents for one of the lunch or dinner cruises.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who lives locally; this is a great way to spend the afternoon in sunny scenic Arizona and a fine place to take friends from out of town and especially nice for special occassions. |
