| I live in Green Valley, AZ (formerly from MN), and I had a sister from MN visiting. We decided to do the Apache Trail and include the Dolly in our activities. I got my tickets on line and when we arrived we had no problems getting checked in.
The tour on the Dolly is one of the best attractions in Arizona - in my estimation. I would highly recommend it. We were fortunate (VERY FORTUNATE, according to the captain) to view a large herd of Big Horn Sheep grazing on the hillside. It was utterly magnificent. He even turned the boat around so all could get a good "camera" view. The narrator spoke clearly and understandably, the scenery was amazing, and our upper-level server/steward, Cindy, was wonderful!
The remainder of our four days in the Superstitions was spent hiking many of the beautiful and scenic trails; but our experience on the Dolly was still "tops" on our list! |

| As this was a "nature" cruise, I felt very let down that there was so very little information learned during the cruise. The opportunity to instruct about the geology, local history, as well as the wildlife, flora and fauna of the area would have made the time tremendously informative and was seriously lacking. I've been on various cruises that did the above in other areas and you are missing a wonderful opportunity. (Beside the captains tips would grow accordingly!) As it is now, it's bring a deck of cards....because otherwise there is little else to do. |

| For out of town guests who only have a few days in the Phoenix area, a trip out to Canyon Lake and a ride on the Steamboat Dolly is a Must Do!!
The Steamboat Dolly is a relaxing 90 minute boat ride with narration from the Captain about the history, local scenery, and the wildlife. Its a very relaxing and enjoyable trip. |

| We absolutely loved Dolly... the kids (8 and 12) enjoyed it as well. We learned a lot of new things about Arizona, and we thought the captain was wonderful.
The only draw back was that we arrived the 1/2 hr. early like it said, but than we still experienced line ups to get our tickets. We than received a ticket with a number on it. Our number was 45 and they call the people on the boat starting with #1. Of-course we all wanted to sit up top to get the better view and the fresh air. Thank goodness we ended up with a table (due to someone changing their mind). Had we been on the bottom I know it would of ruined our trip.
So I think you need to be there very early, get your ticket, and than just hang out for a while.
We took our mom from Canada, and she thought it was wonderful. We will definately do it again with out of town guests. We will be there very early to get tickets, than eat and than line up.
Enjoy.... it was well worth it!

| We had a lovely time going on the Dolly Steamboat. The scenery was great but we also enjoyed the music that was played and the narration keeping us informed. I would gladly recommend this to someone else and we will probably go again. My husband needs a scooter and everyone was so helpful. |

| My wife must travel in a scooter. Our's is a three wheel one that makes navigating difficult. All aboard were helpful and made this a safe and enjoyable trip. This was our fifth trip and we took our great grandson and his friend. They had a great time. |

| We took family from Pennsylvania on the Dolly Steamboat to show them AZ sights. They loved it! It was exciting, yet relaxing. What a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. The Captain was very informative and funny. There was a gorgeous breeze even on a hot summer day. We saw longhorn sheep climbing the mountains.
It was one of the high points in our trip. A definite for locals and tourists alike. You won't be disappointed!
Tortilla Flat is right nearby for a delicious lunch. But there is also a restaurant at this location that looked interesting with a gorgeous view. We will be back! |
