We went on this cruise over Memorial Day weekend and I would not suggest people do that. The volume of the speakers was probably loud enough on a regular day, but on this day, my husband and I could not hear much of what was being said and none of the beautiful music I had been told about. My sister and friends did this cruise in March and commented over and over about how wonderful, peaceful, and overall great things were. We didn't find much peace there - there were so many boats "flying" by us and lots of noise - too much to hear over. The actual cruise is great - the scenery beautiful. Of course we saw no animals - what animal would come out into that kind of chaos! There were birds flying though. I would suggest that people take this cruise - it is a wonderful one - just NOT ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND when everyone else in the Phoenix area and surrounding states decides this is the time to put their boats in the water and have picnics! I would love to go again - only this time in the spring or fall when not as many people are around. |

We found this cruise online while researching "fun family fare" before we reached our intended destination of the Grand Canyon.
The cruise information and reviews looked great. As recommended, we purchased our tickets in advance.
We loved the cruise! The weather was wonderful! The views are wonderful. The cruise was very relaxing and provided us the opportunity to slow down and just be...
Captain Tom was outstanding. He has a great sense of humor. The narration was never loud or obnoxious. His tone is relaxing. He knows the area like the back of his hand. The music used just adds to the relaxing tone of the cruise. Just cannot say enough good things about the cruise. Will definitely take the cruise again when returning to Arizona.
Another unexpected surprise was the drive to Canyon Lake. Very mountainous winding roads. It kept our kids entertained as well. Beautiful terrain!
Well worth your vacation dollars!

We thoroughly enjoyed the nature cruise & have been recommending it to all our friends. We had cut the article about the Dolly Steamboat cruise out of the paper last November & finally made our way to the lake. What a fun 90 minutes!! We were celebrating our 20th anniversay & this was a great way to do that! We do look forward to spending another 90 minutes with you again soon. |

The lake was beautiful and my family visiting from Ohio enjoyed the canyon and the firendly captain and narrated tour. It was a nice way to spend a day with out of town visitors! |

The cruise aboard the Dolly was everything we wanted it to be. It was very relaxing and peaceful as we circled around Canyon Lake going into many small coves and inlets. The Dolly moves at a slow pace and takes about an 1 1/2 hours for the whole thing. The canyon walls are very beautiful and scenic, sometimes the boat comes within 10 feet or so from them. Along the way, we saw a group of big horn sheep and a couple of Blue Herrons. Sometimes you can see bobcats, javelinas, and other animals. The Captain narrates important details along the way, but not all the time. In between, there is music playing that kind of corresponds with the sights. The crew mate sells the tickets and also sells, popcorn, candy and beverages. My wife and I really enjoyed it and was a relaxing end to our vacation. If we had time and the day worked out, we would recommend taking the dinner cruise that they offer. It is a little longer, but you get a full meal. I would recommend this tour and feel it was worth the money and the drive to get there. |

I and a couple of family members were really looking forward to attending the steamboat ferry ride. Unexpectedly I needed to leave town and head back home ft lauderdale, FL causing my vacation to be cut short. I understand that there are no cancellations or refunds but was hoping that there could be some recourse. I was wondering if a credit could be extended toward an activity here in this area if you provide activities or events on the east coast. Otherwise I heard that the steamboat ride would have been very enjoyable. Once again undecided but would like to take advantage of a future event. |

Great trip, but check in early to be sure you get the spot on the boat you want. Narration is interesting and music most appropriate to the voyage. As expected, wildlife was limited on the noon cruise. Travel the Apache Trail after the boat ride for a wonderful completion to your day. |

My guest and I missed the voyage - as did six other people behind us on the road - due to slow motorcycle traffic on the last 12 mi. of canyon road who refused to let people pass on the pull-out lanes. We all were approx. 3 mins. late and the Dolly Steamboat had just left the dock.
I resent that the vessel owners insist on leaving exactly at 12P instead of beginning boarding at 12P and leaving at 12:15P. Especially knowing that several of their clients have not signed in by 12P. There are issues with traffic, especially on mountain roads that most clients are unfamiliar with. I lost approx. $43.00; the other people lost approx. $160.00. Not good. We tried several times to call, as I was told did the other group, on our cell prior to it ceasing to transmit in the deep canyon. On each occasion there was no answer at the Dolly Steamboat office.
I have taken this voyage once before with family and felt then also that the attitiude of the owners was overly rigid and unfriendly in regards to policy structure, and food restrictions without healthy offerings on the vessel.
I would consider taking this trip again, because it is the only experience of this kind in the area, but allow excessive lead time to travel up the canyon.

I totally enjoyed the trip to Cayon Lake. There is so much to do and I will be recommending the Dolly Steamboat to my co-workers.
Thank you so much, everyone was very pleasant and curtious.
