| Everyone was very friendly. The ride was smooth and fun. My only negative comment would be that the volume should be turned up on the speakers as it was hard to hear. |

Seeing the Big Horn Sheep was a highlight.

| We moved to Apache Junction from upstate New York in January of 2006. We discovered Canyon Lake and the Dolly Steamboat Cruise and have taken EVERY visitor ever since. Thanks to our Captan, Jeff, he alerted us to the presence of several Big Horn Sheep on top of a cliff. I was able to photograph them.
Every one of our cruises was a most enjoyable experience but this one was extraordinary! Thank you Jeff.
Even though the cost is reasonable, I'm still waiting for my "frequent flyer" discounts!! |

| Captain Tom was a terrific narrator of the lake and surrounding area. He knew the geology of the rocks. We even saw some big horned sheep standing on the side of the mountain. Everything was good except for one of the crew members, she was a little snippy. She needed my AAA card when I got there to give me my tickets for my reservation (They should have said that I needed my AAA card when I reserved my spot on the boat), so I had to run back to the car. Also, I wanted to buy some snacks for the ride and she was in the middle of putting the tickets back in numerical order and could not stop instead she told me it would be a few minutes. This is something that she could have done after the boat ride instead of during. But other wise the trip was worth while!!! |

| From the moment you check in with the friendly hostess in the booth, your time of natural splendor and relaxation begins. Ample seating is provided as you wait ( a short wait) for all to check in. Then a short jaunt to the Dolly. The Captain and his crew greet you warmly and are quick to answer all questions, even the silly ones, I think they enjoy their jobs.
My wife and I went with a group of friends from church. We stopped at one of the picnic areas before we got to the Landing, and had an enjoyable picnic lunch. (Get a map of the area and plan a time and spot, thanks to the Internet).
The tables and the chairs on the Dolly are comfortable enough for the one and one half hour tour. The sights and sounds are refreshing, even the very occasional speed boat, and those are friendly with waves of recognition to fellow Lake Travellers.
By no means is this an exciting attraction. However, if you just want to visit a beautifully created landscape, that happens to have a gorgeous Lake in the middle and surrounding of it, on which you can just plain relax ....then I will recommend this tour to you. Bring your camera's and a 16-24 oz. bottle of water. (Drinking water is provided on the Dolly if you run out.)
If you've ever dreamed of renting a pontoon boat and skippering your friends or family around the Lake, you may consider the Dolly Steamboat as a more enjoyable alternative. It's less expensive, less stress, no responsibility (other than don't lean to far over the edge), and the crew has Historical as well as other interesting information to share with you as well. I know I only gave it a Four Star, but that's because it doesn't have the adrenaline some of you are looking for, sorry, I loved it! |

| I went with local friends for a birthday celebration and then the following week with friends visiting from Massachusetts.
Enjoyed both trips. Planning on going back for the dinner cruise.
The trip is enjoyable and the narration fun.
The only drawback was the price.
The hour and a half went by very quickly and still not sure it was worth $20.00 a person.
That was the only drawback. the scenery was beautiful.
Definately would recommend. |
