| We were late getting to the marina as 101 was tied up but, someone had already called ahead with the news so they waited some extra time for everyone to get there. We were very appreciative of this as there are no refunds for missing your boat.
The cruise itself was very scenic and relaxing and the food was pretty good at the restaurant as well. I would recommend the trip to anyone and hope to make a dinner or astrology cruise sometime. |

| I heard about this on the TV program "Arizona Highways". It was a gorgeous trip. Why doesn't anyone in Southern Arizona know about this? I've been telling everyone since I got home. The price was just right (we used a coupon, buy one, get one half price), the beauty was speechless, the narration was just the right amount, and the music that accompanied the trip was perfect. I'd go again in a heartbeat. |

| Best money that we spent while on vacation. Scenery was awesome, boat was great, staff was helpful and knowledgable, and the Captain did a great job. How can I move this boat ride to Florida? |

| We are about to move out of state, and before we do, mom and dad (in their 70's) asked us to join them on the Dolly boat ride. To be honest, was a little unsure that it would amount to much. Yet as I have found on the other occasions I've left "the beaten path" within the Superstition Wilderness, this world of beauty and amazing scenery opens up.
I am also a travel writer, so for me, this is something I do, but "took the day off" to simply enjoy - and I did. We all did!
The boat itself is very comfortable, well designed and not at all "sea sickening". They handle boarding very well for those with special needs, like my parents. The staff/crew are very friendly, helpful, and love what they're doing.
We sat at the far back, main floor, and while we couldn't hear everything on the speakers, it allowed us to talk, to feel the peace, to enjoy in a different way. There is food and drinks, tourist pricing, and plenty of options for viewing, sitting, and enjoying. Bathrooms are on board and easy to use.
But the views are what this is all about. The captain knows this area like a native and shares a lot of great information and insights. The views are unique to this area, the rocks and formation interesting, fun, historic and beautiful. You'll ride where once Apache and ancient people lived. You'll see where the US Calvary fought them. You'll see ancient trees that had fallen, and find yourself walking from side to side to take photos or get an "up close" view - though the captain gets you pretty darn close.
This is a trip for most ages.
I can see where a certain range of children might become bored, but in general, I think most will enjoy it for the boat ride alone. There were several small children on board (under 5) and they had fun, but were moving around a lot. Children are provided life jackets - required to wear. Teens may get bored, unless they like this type of thing.
Great for anyone with special needs - they help you, have plenty of great seating, and while you cannot get to the upper deck perhaps, the lower level has wonderful views.
For peace, wonderful views, a nice time to talk, to learn about some history of this area, and just to spend time with people you like - maybe even love - the -Dolly is a great idea.
Hint: if you want to eat at the restaurant afterwards - there will be a rush, food only average, prices at tourist levels. Better thought - go on to Tortilla Flat or back to Apache Junction. |

| My son and I decided to do this on Labor Day! it was nearly a 2 hour drive, but so worrht it, the cruise was wonderful. We were fortunate enough to select the back section of the boat, where we could move our chairs inorder to not have to sit in the sun! it was a bit warm that day. The cruise was just the right pace, time enough to enjoy the views! The narration was just right! not too much, not too little, the interesting scenery including old petrified logs, and the crevases in the rocks, the areas where you could tell that during certain parts of the year water would be falling off of the high cliffs. The interestingly named points, and out croppings were fun to look at, the elephant etc. The captains "mates" were great, and happily took our photos with the boat at the end of our ride. It was just the right amount of time and we sure enjoyed it. Then we went up to the restaraunt and had a delicious lunch! with great service.
here's one idea for you, include the ride and a buffet lunch, maybe on Saturday and Sunday or on holidays, that way the cook wouldnt be so swamped all at once! and the waitresses, who weren't busy until we arrived! then they really had to fly! and hey I would spend $ 40 a piece for the ride with buffet included. And the buffet should be something different, fun, interesting! |

| Enjoyed the boat ride ,saw many animals& birds. Narration was terrific. At the waiting area there were signs"No food or beverages allowed aboard." The cruise was 12Noon-1:30PM. My husband & myself are both Diabetics and usually have lunch about this time. I told the Captain this & that we had 2 peanut butter sandwiches in my bag & a water. He had no problem with this. Before the boat took off from the pier I went down to see what was for sale-a sandwich, or a hot dog and was going to purchase from them. The woman said they had Popcorn, water. I asked if there was any lunch food. She said "No." I said"But we are not allowed to bring food?"
I am sure I am not the only one with this complaint. It was 115 degrees that day and many people would maybe have even purchase ice cream or popsicles if available.
Sitting beside us was 2 toddlers who were required to wear their floatation devices which made them so hot they cried the entire 1&1/2 hrs. (I know its a regulation).
Thank-you,this was my second trip on this boat & I will go again next year when I return there again.

| We had visitor from Maine come to visit and we decided the last minute to take the Dolly Steamboat ride at Canyon Lake. The process was quit pleasant. When we arrived at Canyon Lake our tickets were ready. We all enjoyed the ride as well as the commentaries. It was so peaceful and calming. I would recommend it to anyone who want to enjoy the beauty of nature. |

| Our niece, age 39, was with us and loved it. It is a great adventure for someone new to the AZ desert. The trip to the boat was really neat for our niece to see. She thought it was spectacular. |
