We had reservations to take the cruise and at the time of departure, there were just the two of us. Another couple showed up but the Captain did not take the boat out. It would have been GREATLY appreciated if the Dolly had called us to let us know it would not be going out. My family member from out of state was disappointed. |

It was a relaxing cruise, with one exception, it was too hot, being that it was August 18, still in the height of summer. 90 minutes of drifting on the lake, with good music, our pilot was informative about the difference sights, and I was thrilled with the rare appearance of four big horn sheep. I do recommend if you are going to take this cruise especially with small children, take it during March, April, May, Oct, Nov. I had to keep pouring water on my head to stay cool.
If I may suggest, to the Dolly Steamboat establishment, it might be a good idea to put one of those misters, one that you see at some eating places to cool the place down a bit, and maybe just the upper deck.
I'll definitely bring the rest of the family for this outing in the future, when it gets a little cooler. Thank you very much. |

Beautifull scenery. Saw a few mountain goats. It was very hot out and the boat moved too slow. Was expecting more information on the Superstition mountains. Maybe some history on the apache trail also. the Captain had a good sense of humor.the price was reasonable.Would recomend if you like to go of the beaten path. |

The trip was great in itself. The boat was clean, the staff was excellent. Capt. Tom was great. I would recommend it as a very fun and exciting day event.
The only draw back was the flies. Also, the waiting area. Why don't you put fans in that area (that would help the fly problem). It was very warm just sitting there and I don't think there was not a person fanning themselves. No air movement. The flies are hard to control but maybe a good spray about 2 hrs before the first cruise might help. I know we went in August and it many not be the same for the other months and I am sure it is not but for the summer months these little suggestions might help future passengers enjoy their day alot better.
Also. the restaurant had lots of flies inside and we killed about 6 ourselves. Very uncomfortable with flies flying around and that is why we did not order a breakfast or lunch just french fries. We both could keep the flies off the fries with only one plate to watch. Also, maybe open earlier around 9am or even 10am. Again, maybe just for the summer to get people out of the heat. There were flies on the boat too, so maybe spray that too about 2 hrs. before sail. I am fully aware that this is going to be a hard situation to control but if you take the advice of the fans and the restaurant that would be a good start to improve your event. Cause I would tell people of these problems so they would be aware of it.
All in all it was alot of fun. Thank you for a friendly staff and a great Capt. Tom.
So that is it from me |

We were delighted with the entire cruise. It was fun and informative and just a great day to be on the water and enjoy all that Mother Nature can provide. I highly recommend it to anyone in the Phoenox Metro area. |

The day was very hot (100+), but that is not the fault of the tour providers. The lake is beautiful and the sites are interesting. The best site was the embedded pertified logs in the cliff. Otherwise, you're looking at rock formations (similar to cloud formations), camp sites, dry waterfall stains, cactus and oh yeah, lots and lots of jet skis and ski boats. The Captian was very knowledgable and funny. The first mate was also nice and helpful. The boat is not truly paddle wheel driven, but rather a standard inboard diesel with some sticks cobbled out the back that look like a paddle wheel. I don't think I will rush back out to take my out-of-state visitors, but I can now check off the Dolly Cruise from my "Things to Do While on the Earth" list. Maybe if I went when the temps weren't so opressive I'd have written a more enthusiastic review. |

Sure it was hot (Phoenix in July) and muggy (monsoon season, 70% humidity), but the trip around the lake was quite relaxing. Each turn brought new and interesting sights. There wasn't much wildlife visible (they didn't like the heat and humidity either), but no matter, my wife and I enjoyed ourselves. The captain was a fine narrator as well, adding to the ambiance.
Next time we're in the area we'll probably take the dinner cruise for a longer and perhaps more romantic tour. |

T O M did a great job, but the best part was seeing the big horn sheep.
We will be back for a dinner cruise.
Good time.
