My husband and I decided to go to canyon lake and take the steamboat cruise for a 2nd Anniversary Date. WOW!! What a beautiful lake, scenery is breathtaking on the way to the lake. On the boat itself, the captain and crew ( Tom & Janet) were great, made you feel right at home and like a part of the family!!!
We are planning our next trip to canyon lake and ride on the Dolly, for a dinner cruise this time!!
You will definitely NOT regret going on this cruise!!

Beautiful scenery - great narrative by the captain - excellent accoustics- not always found on these type of rides. Will definitely do it again with other friends. |

I would have liked more geological information - there were rock formations that were not discussed. Why different colours of rocks, why do some rocks protrude over others? A map of the trip would have been nice - I would also have liked to go further up the river is possible. No discussion on how and why the lakes were formed although dam was talked about.
Also we would have liked to have bought souveniers but did not realize they ould not be available once the boat stopped. Souveniers on shore would have been nice.
A great trip and great day! Thanks |

We were a couple on a date, celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary. We found the informative web site on Canyon Lake and were able to purchase the tickets for the cruise on-line. We thouroughly enjoyed our cruise on the Dolly Steamboat. The scenery is beautiful and the cruise is very peaceful and restful. We would definetly recommend the cruise!!

We enjoyed the Dolly and Canyon Lake. We had 13 people with a range of age from 90 years down to 6 years. All ages enjoyed the outing. Our guests were relatives from Germany who did not speak English. They had a great time even though they could not understand much of the Captain's description of the area. The Captain was very interesting. The Dolly was comfortable. You might bring a light coat or wrap in the evening or in spring or fall as there was a slight wind in the main lake area. If you have the time, visit Tortilla Flat also. The food there was pretty good and the museum and things to see were wonderful. |
