Folks were very nice; we were a little late, they gave us our tickets and off we went. Great atmosphere to meet other people. Very romantic. I'd do it again.

Absolutely beautiful boat ride. The captain's narrative, while limited so you could enjoy the beauty, was great. I would highly recommend this for both local residents and visitors.

My wife, her sister, and I found this to be an informative hour and one-half on Canyon Lake from a perspective we'd not seen before. We were happy to NOT be subjected to a continuous dialogue of facts we would probably not remember, but just enough information about the topography and history to make it an interesting trip. We especially appreciated the quality sound system that everyone could easily hear, and the music choices that complemented what we were viewing. I look forward to the opportunity to take the evening starlight cruise sometime.

Scenic cruise on a lake

Dolly Steamboat gave us a 90 minute cruise on Canyon lake. Captain gave us a narration during the cruise. Lots of information as to South-West cacti, volcanic rock formation, mountain sheep herds, etc. Bring your camera, sunglasses, and a hat.

My wife and I are from Ohio and are in the Phoenix area for Spring Training. I found out about the Dolly boat ride from surfing the internet regarding Phoenix area activities. After reading the reviews about the boat ride and the area, I felt this would be worth checking into. We were very impressed with the overall boat ride and the Canyon Lake area. The many positive reviews were right on target. The boat was filled to capacity and it appeared that all were enjoying the experience. I would recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance as walkons run the risk of not getting on the boat after a rather long but interesting drive from the Phoenix area.

Excellent Arizona Activity

The Dolly Steamer is a cruise boat on Canyon Lake. The views are spectacular and the narrative about this area is excellent. Being able to catch views of many big horn sheep on the cliffs was exciting, however the sheep are not always in sight. Some of the cliffs are 500-1000 ft high and you are on the water in between the cliffs. It is a unique experience and well worth the time to discover this area of Arizona.
