My husband, mother, grandmother and I took this steamboat tour around Canyon Lake just last week (early April). The drive to the Canyon from Ft. Apache takes about a 1/2 hour and is just beautiful. The 90 minute steamboat ride was lovely. The captain was informative and told a few goofy jokes which we appreciated. They play Enya-type music in the background which is fitting as you admire the canyon. I swear we heard the Titanic theme at one point (?) I think most guests see a big horned sheep or two. We saw 4 - 6 in 2 separate groups, a few hawks, and herons, too. The cliffs, rock formations, caves, cacti and wildflowers were all a beautiful site. Being from Boston, we don't see that type of scenery. In all, if you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful afternoon, we recommend it!

Your system works fine. Not a problem exchanging my voucher I printed for the tickets.. The Question? Why did the person in front of me only pay $80 for 4 tickets and I payed $88. and change???? because I payed over the internet that cost me more money?? She had made the reserveration and then payed when she got there with a check. Does not sound right to me!!! Waiting to hear from You ................

We had a wonderful afternoon on our boat ride. My grandaughters had a great time and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The Lake is beautiful and the flora and fauna were beautiful as well. We would do it again in a heartbeat. Will definately bring more family for the ride and may even do the dinner cruise with friends in the summer. Thank you

This was a pleasant and scenic tour that took us through steep canyons that towered above the lake. Our tour was during the spring (April), which was a perfect time to visit the Arizona dessert. All of the flowers were in bloom and the temperature was very comfortable at about 80 degrees. The panorama was simply amazing, and it would be a good idea to bring some binoculars to help take in all of what nature has to share. We enjoyed the crew and were fortunate to see some wild life such as, Big Horn Sheep, Blue Herons, and a bit more. If you don't get the chance to take a nice leisurely cruise, you won’t want to miss this one. The price is reasonable, and if you have the time, you can enjoy a very nice meal at the marina restaurant. Don't forget to bring plenty of film or a digital camera for memorable pictures.

The boat ride allowed you to take great pictures without electric poles, signs, traffic, etc. The guide was very good at pointing out mountain sheep, stone formations, and other "Kodak" moments. The crew was very friendly and made you feel at home.

Enjoyed everything about the cruise. Our captain did a great job. I didn't realize there was so much more to see in Arizona until you get into the out of way places whrere the cruise takes you.

We made the trip as an adventure. It took us 2 hours to get to Canyon Lake and it was worth every minute of the drive. The captain of the boat was articulate, cheerful and helpful. The ride was smooth, beautiful and refreshing. the music on the boat was very fitting. We'll do it again!

The Supes are beautiful and to me at least, magical, and gliding along among them on the smooth surface of a lake inside the Superstitions is inevitably a pleasure. I took my mom and even sitting in the middle of the boat on its "first floor" was nice. Some things really disappointed me though. First I can recall only one or at the most two sentences about the geology of the area. We're immersed for two hours in some of the most fascinating geology in the world and most of the narration was "Oh, look, there's a rock that looks like ET! There's one that looks like an angel! There's another one like it up the hill! That one looks like JSBach!" Whereupon Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is played on the sound system. I'd be genuinely reluctant to take European friends on this tour, since it seems like just another embarassing example of the abysmally low education level in this country. Please, Dolly Steamboat, give us some real information about what we're seeing! What parts are igneous and what sedimentary? What is pyroclastic? Lava? Sandstone? Limestone? There's an area pointed out of actual petrified trees mixed with geodes and not a word on how it got there! Second, the music that played loudly when there wasn't narration was often annoying, including some twangy Arizona country song, followed by Enya's "Sail Away", then something from "Titanic"! I wonder if we sank they'd play "Nearer my God to Thee?" I came to see the area, not hear music that's been done to death already, thanks. The jazzy backgroundy stuff with no lyrics was OK because it was unobtrusive, but there was too little of it among the schmaltz. Otherwise, five stars.

Canyon Lake in beautiful in April. The blue herons on the lake and the wild flowers on land make it a delightful place to visit. The scenery was greatly enhanced by our 90 minute narrated ride on Dolly Steamboat. The guide pointed out many highlights, including bighorn sheep and blue heron on our 2 PM cruise. Yes, I will recommend this relaxing ride to my friends!

The youngest in our group of 8 from Wisconsin was 14 and the oldest was 78. One of us is in a wheel chair. We all liked the trip. Seeing the mountain goat was a high point ... we don't have them in Wisconsin. This was my second trip with you so I guess I must have like the first trip also.
