we had company from out of town. It was a great day. Canyon lake is beautiful. I thought the price for the boat ride was very reasonable. The staff was knowledgable and very friendly. The whole group really enjoyed the day.

I am local, but new to the Phoenix area and wanted to get out and see the beautiful state of Arizona. I took my twin sons 11 years old with me. We had a wonderful time. The crew had interesting information and facts of the area. We happened upon a group of 10 sheep and Captain Jeff loaned his binoculars to myself and my children for close up views. They were all so very nice. We took the noon cruise and you can get snacks on the boat if you wish, but we chose to eat at the Marina restaurant afterwards instead and sat out on the dock to watch the boaters as we ate. A beautiful day!
Relaxing, Educational and Just Plain Fun Narrated Nature Cruise on Canyon Lake

Nine years ago, while visiting my sister and brother-in-law in Gilbert, we vacationed here from Illinois. We took this cruise and really enjoyed it. Now, as residents ourselves, we brought along neighbors who aren't as lucky as us to live here year around. We couldn't stop talking about the cruise. The scenery was outstanding, the trip was relaxing and educational and even seeing the wildlife was amazing. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone and we're all hoping we can make it back as a group to also enjoy the dinner cruise. We have visitors coming and this will be one place that will be on our list of "must do's". Thank you for an enjoyable Sunday afternoon.

We loved the cruise. The Dolly Steamboat was lovely. Check-in, boarding and table assignment were a breeze. The staff was knowledgable, attentive and good-humored. The food was delicious. Best of all, the scenery was spectacular. A wonderful way to spend an evening.

this is a gorgeous lake and a fun experience. the onlly negative comment i could make about the trip was the fact that we were sitting outside at the front of the ship and all of the other passengers from inside the boat were coming outside to see the rock formations that captain was pointing out, and completly blocking our view. they were also posing for pictures and they were so close to our table that their butts were hanging over our table. gross when we were trying to eat. the staff was excellent

My family and i decided to use this venue to celebrate our parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. They have always enjoyed boat travel and thought that this would be a new and different experience for them instead of sitting in a restaurant with all of the noise and clatter. My husband and I had taken the trip one time before and had enjoyed it and hoped this would be perfect for their celebration. My sister and brother in law joined us from CA who had also never been on this trip. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening! Everyone was in awe of the Canyon and the beautiful scenery, we saw a Bald Eagle, a mountain sheep and hawks. The narrator of the trip was delightful with his commentary and the music before and after dinner was a nice touch. We found this to be a very peaceful and enjoyable way to spend a special occassion. Not to mention, that the food was delicious and not spared. We would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience an evening under the stars floating down a river for a relaxing and enjoyable time. Not to mention the wonderful attention and friendliness of the crew, they were excellent in all ways.

The whole experience was delightful! From checking in to the end, everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was great and plentiful. The narration was interesting in learning about the lake. We sat on the top just outside the covered area. Take a warm jacket! The temp is always cooler on the water and especially at night. We had requested to be under the cover but they weren't able to accommodate that. We had perfect weather for late March, and were absolutely thrilled with the experience. We cruised part of the time in the darkness of night. We loved it. The stars were shining bright, and we could see running lights of other boaters and lanterns of campers. We saw some Turkey vultures, a Red-tail hawk and a Bald eagle flew past as we were departing the dock. Cool! A few bats flew overhead for a couple of minutes at about dusk. Fun! We'll take a daytime cruise next year to see more of the lake. Go! You'll love it!

The "cruise" was nice, and the scenery was great but you really need to be sitting outside on the top deck to fully enjoy the whole experience, much of what you are going to be looking at is very high up on the cliffs. The narrative by the captain was well done. The cruise begins at noon,... lunch time... and lasts an hour and a half... there are snacks ... popcorn, chips, sodas available for purchase on the boat but thats it. They really should serve some kind of lunch, either eat a very late breakfast or bring your fishing pole... your going to need it. 2 things that would make the cruise just awesome would be to completely remove the roof and enclosure on the top deck for greater viewing and to serve lunch.

The boat ride was very relaxing and just long enough. The captain was funny making it more pleasurable. He pointed out the wild life when he saw it. He also explained the wild life you can see on any given day. I was with family and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Also snacks can be purchased . I am not sure how many people the boat holds, however, my guess is 130 or so with upper and lower deck. There is also a washroom on board. . Life jackets are a must for children and are provided with instruction. I would definately take the cruise again. Carrol Sutton

Both our groups of Independent and Assisted living elders really enjoyed our afternoons on the Dolly Steamboat. Sierra Pointe has been taking our residents for years and the quality never waivers. Although many of our residents have been many times, they keep signing up year after year!

We were caught behind a boat that was being transferred to the marina. We were late getting to the boat due to the traffic stop. We didn't know until we arrived that the boat knew there were delays and waited. We expected we would have missed the trip. We were thankful.

Canyon Lake is very beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the boat ride was relaxing. We met wonderful people from Canada which made the trip interesting too. It was a scenic, enjoyable experience that I would recomment to all!
