very relaxing celebration

| We took the dinner cruise as a celebration dinner for my mom's retirement. We had 8 adults (ages 25 - 56) and one child (9) and it was just a very relaxing, enjoyable way to spend an evening. Being that it was still a warm time of year, but the boat wasn't completely booked, and I have to say this worked to our advantage. There was plenty of room to move about and enjoy different views. The food was excellent as well. We all enjoyed every aspect of the meal and appreciated how fresh everything tasted. The captain and his crew were extremely friendly and accomodating. I would definitely book this cruise again for a special occasion. | ||||||

| We had a great time on this cruise. The captian told us a lot about the lakes history. The food was very good, there was a enough that you didn't go away still hungry. The cruise is non smoking but that didn't bother me even though i am a smoker. you were kept entertained by the captian and the music that is played. I would take this cruise again. | ||||||

| We had out of town family come to visit us in Chandler. Since we had a busy schedule, we didn't have time to prepare our boat and drag it to the lake, so we thought we'd give your tour boat a try. Given the relatively hot temperatures, I thought it would be uncomfortable, but with ample shade on the boat, we were quite comfortable. The ride was very well narrated, and Capt. T-O-M made it interesting. We saw a lot of gorgeous rugged desert and mountain terrain. I said to my wife that I wish we would have known about this when we first moved here 2 years ago. We look forward to doing a dinner cruise once the dam is repaired by next spring. Thank You. | ||||||

| My husband and I were visiting Phoenix/Scottsdale for vacation. We had been the previous 2 summers as well. Last year we were driving the Apache Trail when we happened upon the Dolly. We went back the next day to sign up for the afternoon cruise but it was closed. We made sure to buy our tickets before we left NJ this year! It was very hot, Arizona was having a heat wave with 44% humidity - so that quote about "but it's a dry heat" wasn't holding true for us. I was miserable with the heat and only looking forward to returning to the hotel to sit by (or rather in) the pool. But we boarded the Dolly and our Captain and his crew were so gracious that I started to forget about the heat. We found the cruise to be relaxing and the breeze which was created by the movement on the lake was refreshing. The sights were amazing - we didn't see much wildlife but the scenery was awesome. Thank you Captain Tom for an enjoyable 90 minutes! | ||||||

| The boat was in good repair though it could have used a bit of sprucing up (cobwebs on some of the windows) and considering that this is Arizona, a few fans would have been very nice to ward off some of the heat. The captain was very pleasant, well informed and treated everyone with respect and courtesy. I know this is out of your control but I think the lake is small and should be limited to boats only, ban the jet skies as they make the water very choppy and most of the operators have no respect for anyone else on the water. Back to the tour....the scenery around the lake is very nice and probably during the cooler months there is more wildlife visible along the shore and up on the higher elevations. All in all, a nice cruise. I would recommend it to anyone. | ||||||

| Even though the website said that tickets sell out quickly, after ordering tickets, we were informed that the cruise was cancelled due to low ticket sells. Very disappointing, since we were only in the area for a few days and couldn't reschedule. | ||||||

| The trip through the canyon was breath-takingly beautiful and serene. The Captain, (T-O-M) was very knowledgeable ...knew right when to break in with some wonderful sighting or terrific fact...and knew when to just let you (try) to be one with nature. The music accompanying us on the trip was just the perfect touch. A great afternoon outing and one we've already raved about to all our friends and family! Thank you | ||||||

| My husband and I took the twilight dinner cruise and had a really great time. It's very relaxing floating with the soft music they play in the background. Dr. Sky was their for his astrology talk and pointed out some stuff in the sky. The food was great, a lot for your money. Would recommend to everybody. We will most likely do this again. | ||||||

| Although the weather did not cooperate fully for the astronomical portion until the very end, we enjoyed ourselves very much. Captain Jeff and his crew were all very personable. Dr. Sky was as informative as he could have been (under the cloud cover for most of the cruise). I was abit disconcerted that the intro portion had not been updated though and referred to past events in August (we attended in September). The food was OK, although I really think that Dolly Steamboat should entertain the practice of table service. I did not know the food was served buffet style and by the time we were allowed to go and get our food, it was overcooked and lukewarm, although still very tasty. Walking through the boat where other passengers already were eating bothered me. The grandeur of the Arizona sunset and the scenery in Canyon Lake was absolutely beautiful and made up for all the other little shortfalls. | ||||||

| My husband & I along with my sister & brother in law took the Astronomy Cruise. The food was very good, the staff was friendly and accomodating. It was a cloudy nite so we were limited on star gazing, however, the skies opened a little towards the end of the cruise and Dr Sky was very informative. We all really enjoyed our evening and would definitely do this again. | ||||||

| It was a very nice short trip. It could have had a little more as far as historical facts though. It seemed to be very limited in that department. Crew was very nice and the boat was clean. Its a nice drive to the boat as well but its not a drive for the faint at heart! Over all a nice trip! | ||||||
