Slow, relaxing cruise...Clean boat

| This trip is a good relaxing boat ride. The narration was not that enlightening but did have some interesting facts. Maybe a boat on the water should not play the music from the movie Titanic. The restaurant at the marina was below average in food. I'd say this trip is good for the couple that wants to just spend quality time together. I would only recommend the trip to couples about 35 years of age or 50+ year old groups. Too slow for the younger generations. | ||||||

| The cruise was very enjoyable and the help was very nice. The only thing I can say is that I was not impressed with Captain Tom. He had a negative attitude and I noticed he was short with some of the people. He should keep his negative remarks to himself and not share with the customers. I think if he doesn't like his job then he should get another. | ||||||

| The boat was neat and clean, the crew friendly. The Captain was knowledgeable and had an excellent presentation. Canyon lake is beautiful and the only way to really see it is by boat. We had a great time, and are considering a night cruise. This is an awesome trip!!!! Well worth the money!! | ||||||

| The narrative was borderline obnoxious. We'd have enjoyed it better if there were fewer interruptions of useless and annoying comments. | ||||||

| We are about to move out of state, and before we do, mom and dad (in their 70's) asked us to join them on the Dolly boat ride. To be honest, was a little unsure that it would amount to much. Yet as I have found on the other occasions I've left "the beaten path" within the Superstition Wilderness, this world of beauty and amazing scenery opens up. I am also a travel writer, so for me, this is something I do, but "took the day off" to simply enjoy - and I did. We all did! The boat itself is very comfortable, well designed and not at all "sea sickening". They handle boarding very well for those with special needs, like my parents. The staff/crew are very friendly, helpful, and love what they're doing. We sat at the far back, main floor, and while we couldn't hear everything on the speakers, it allowed us to talk, to feel the peace, to enjoy in a different way. There is food and drinks, tourist pricing, and plenty of options for viewing, sitting, and enjoying. Bathrooms are on board and easy to use. But the views are what this is all about. The captain knows this area like a native and shares a lot of great information and insights. The views are unique to this area, the rocks and formation interesting, fun, historic and beautiful. You'll ride where once Apache and ancient people lived. You'll see where the US Calvary fought them. You'll see ancient trees that had fallen, and find yourself walking from side to side to take photos or get an "up close" view - though the captain gets you pretty darn close. This is a trip for most ages. I can see where a certain range of children might become bored, but in general, I think most will enjoy it for the boat ride alone. There were several small children on board (under 5) and they had fun, but were moving around a lot. Children are provided life jackets - required to wear. Teens may get bored, unless they like this type of thing. Great for anyone with special needs - they help you, have plenty of great seating, and while you cannot get to the upper deck perhaps, the lower level has wonderful views. For peace, wonderful views, a nice time to talk, to learn about some history of this area, and just to spend time with people you like - maybe even love - the -Dolly is a great idea. Hint: if you want to eat at the restaurant afterwards - there will be a rush, food only average, prices at tourist levels. Better thought - go on to Tortilla Flat or back to Apache Junction. | ||||||

| My wife and I had been wanting to take a ride on Dolly for 5 years. It was long overdue. We really enjoyed the ride, narration, and the the guides help on deck. The passangers were considered the whole trip, from the guide pointing to specific sites to having drinking water available (very hot day). The trip itself was exciting yet relaxing. I would recommend this to anyone. | ||||||

| Our first cruise was with a group of srs. and we truly enjoyed the 1pm cruise . We ate lunch in the restaurant and then took the cruise. Then my daughter and two grandchildren came in one child is 10yrs old and an avid swimmer on a swim team in Michigan he was told he and his 12 yr old sister who also is an avid swimmer, that they were required to wear those bulky orange life jackets they did not enjoy the cruise because of it both of the childrens backs were soaking wet from the hot sun and they were truly miserable they sat quiely during the entire cruise. They both looked very unhappy since they thought it was going to be wonderful..The grandson said I would be able to save myself before all those old people could save themselves and how true and he said they do not have to wear a life jacket. Then we took the dinner cruise with our other daughter , husband and 8 yr old son. Well he was told while he was sitting he could take the life jacket off but when he was up walking around he had to wear the life jacket so two different situations and the night cruise was far cooler than the middle of the sunny day. So there you have it . This will be the story I will have to pass on. Thanks again we as adults did enjoy the cruise. We did not have to wear the life jackets. | ||||||

| My husband and I took our parents on the Dolly Steamboat tour of Canyon Lake. It was a busy Saturday which had a negative affect on the tour; lots of jet skis circling the steamboat trying to jump the wake. This, along with the tour guide lacking real insight into the surrounding scenery, made the overall experience a great disappointment. I would recommend saving the money and renting a pontoon boat on Canyon Lake. | ||||||

| What a relaxing way to view the local scenery!!! This was my third trip in less than two months; I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Those that have made previous trips with me thought this to be a most relaxing and scenic tour. The crew is very knowledgeable and most helpful!! Highly recommended!! | ||||||

| During my family's visit the first week of November, we traveled around most of northern Arizona. Since they live near water back east, I thought the Dolly Steamboat would be the perfect end to their trip to our beautiful state. And, it was. They thoroughly enjoyed the serenity and beauty of Canyon Lake. We took the dinner cruise and the food, service and narration of the scenery around us were awesome. I highly recommend this cruise. | ||||||
