A relaxing dinner with the best views around

| My wife and I took the dinner cruise to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. It was a very relaxing evening on board, with a great trip up Canyon Lake with its beautiful scenery. The food was good, the music was nice, and the crew was friendly and competent. A fun way to spend an evening! | ||||||

| My husband & I along with my sister & brother in law took the Astronomy Cruise. The food was very good, the staff was friendly and accomodating. It was a cloudy nite so we were limited on star gazing, however, the skies opened a little towards the end of the cruise and Dr Sky was very informative. We all really enjoyed our evening and would definitely do this again. | ||||||

| While the scenery was enjoyable, the ticketing process was cumbersome. First, I was too early, then I was late to pick up tickets which resulted in less than favorable seating, even though I had prepurchased the tickents before traveling to AZ. I would suggest adding staff or making other arrangements to hand out pre-purchased tickets. | ||||||

| The Dolly Steamboat was a very beautiful and enjoyable trip. I would recommend everyone who is in Arizona to do this activity. The Cannon’s are breathtaking and the music along with the history was wonderful. I plan to do this again my next visit to Arizona, however I would like to go on the dinner cruise. Please remember to stop at their restaurant adjacent to the Dolly Steamboat either before or after your ride, the food is delicious | ||||||

| This is such a fun, restful and relaxing activity. Well, I guess you can't really call it an activity because you sit and eat dinner while the boat does all the work. The food was scrumptous. Ribeye AND chicken, salad, baked potatoe, corn, roll, apple pie and beverage. The serve staff brought beverages around as they dismissed us to go to the buffett. We ate while the canyon walls reflected the change in the sun's position. We watched for wild animals and native birds. The captain kept us apprised of local lore while pointing out features of the lake and canyons. As the sun dropped lower into the horizon, so did our innate stress levels. We found ourselves reveling in the beauty of Canyon Lake at night. | ||||||

| My girlfriend of 10 months gave me huge brownie points on romance for taking her out on the Dolly Steamboat. The setting was really nice. We left as the sun was setting so that we could still see some animals out and about. There were also some notable rock formations to look at. The food was good as well and the portions are nicely sized, it's doubtful you'll still be hungry after eating. The green beans were especially good as was the steak. As the boat turned around and it got darker, you could see more stars in the sky. We just kicked back and looked up at the sky. Outside seating is highly recommended by me, that way you get an unobstructed view of the beautiful canyon. It was a really great experience, granted it is a little pricey, but how often are you going to do something like this? Something that was even better about the cruise was that the captain thought we were on our "anniversary" for some reason. He announced Happy Anniversary to us as he said my last name. He really messed up my last name, lol, (it's an Asian last name, so not too unexpected). I didn't even know he was talking about us at first until he nodded his head towards our table. Then as we got off the boat, he apologized for the bad pronunciation of my last name. Hilarious. So now it's a running joke between me and my girlfriend. An overall wonderful experience. Even the drive there and back was really nice. | ||||||

| If you don't have your own boat, and you love the Arizona lanscape then this cruise is a really nice way to go! If you burn...sit in the shade or wear SPF3000 as it is 90 minutes in the Arizona sun. As beautiful as the surrounding landscape and wildlife are to review, the sun will have little mercy on you. The narration was fine. It was a mixture of narration and then mood music. Personally, I would like to have had a little more education than mood music. But that is a difficult balance to strike and you can't please everyone... But for only around $20 I'd say the boat, the narration and the beautiful scenery are well worth your time. After the boat ride, you might want to consider continuing down the road a little further to Tortilla Flats and have lunch! That is an out of the way place that provides for a very interesting and satisfying conclusion to the afternoon. | ||||||

| We had a most relaxing and enjoyable ride 45 minutes up and 45 minutes back down Canyon Lake on the Dolly Steamboat. Music and narration accompanied us on the trip which enhanced our journey by describing some of the sights we could see on the mountainsides along the lake's edge. Snacks were available to be purchased...but we just sipped the water we brought with us and chatted softly as we sat comfortably around a table on the upper deck. I hope to go again in a year or two with my husband. | ||||||

| Overall, good sight seeing opportunities. The local boaters though somewhat detract from the atmosphere. Would be better if they had an automated tape pointing out the various sights, animal life and history. | ||||||

| My husband and I are local residents and have been on this tour 3 times!... once by ourselves, once with another local couple and the last time with a couple visiting from Holland. All 3 times were fabulous... we never get tired of it and our friends enjoyed it immensely. The scenery is awesome with the high canyon walls, various cactii growing everywhere, some special view points that the captain points out and...there is a very good chance that you'll see big horn sheep or other wildlife (we did all 3 times). The staff is very friendly. The boat is very comfortable and has enclosed or outdoor areas to enjoy your trip from... I'd highly recommend it! | ||||||

| People are amazed when I take them on the Dolly. They have no idea such beauty in nature resides so close to Phoenix. Even the drive out is spectacular. This tour of Canyon Lake is probably the best local attraction, hands down. | ||||||

| Very nice dinner cruise. Staff extremely friendly with excellent service. Fillet was very good, chicken overcooked and dry. Mr Sky was informative and entertaining. Had a great time! ( Birthday dinner for wife ) | ||||||
