Enjoy your Trip!
Sat, Sep 26  2:00 PM lindarpitman Female 50-59 Combination Family With Children
We were a large group; seven adults and four chlldren ranging in age from 2 to 8 years of age. All but two of us--family visiting from the east coast--live in the Phoenix area. It was the first time any of us had visited Canyon Lake and taken the Dolly Steamboat. Not only was the ride beautiful and relaxing, but the captain's narration of the Lake, etc., was very interesting and informative. It was a fun afternoon for all of us and our visiting relatives had a great time!

Cool, blue water, fresh air with gentle breezes. Comfy seats with plenty of viewing areas for picture taking. Beautiful scenery and a great narrative of the flora and fauna. Staff was helpful and pleasant.

we had a lovely day. Didn''t see any big horned sheep, but the mountain scenery is well worth the trip. I had been before but my friends hadn't and it is well worth the price.

A BARGAIN ENCOUNTER WITH DRAMATIC LANDSCAPE
Sun, Sep 20  12:00 PM Cityimpact Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This is a rare privilege to see magnificent landscape from a variety of angles. Every minute the scenery changes in perspective. Cold water is provided on board for free, and the canteen is quite reasonable in its prices, even though no food can be brought on board. We saw a bald eagle. The captain points out rock formations and their resemblance to people and animals. There are caves which seem close enough to touch.

It was in the 90s the day we sailed, yet is was cool and just right on board. The speed of the boat gave us just the right breeze to keep up cool. The Captian gave us a great running comentary as we sailed. The views were just outstanding. I cannot really put into words how pleasant and comfortable the whole experence was. I have recomended it to all my friends and plan on doing it over again.

Extremely Informative

We had an out-of-state guest and wanted to introduce her to some of the local flora and fauna in our state -- she was very impressed with the cruise, as we were, and the information related to us by the captain.

From the moment you board the ship to the end of the event, you are treated to an outstanding dinner and served by and outstanding crew. Would recommend this cruise to everyone who would like to experience a outstanding dinner and cruise on the lake.

Timing

The lake, scenery, captain, food and servers were all great. My only complaint is that the last hour of the cruise is after dark and you can't see anything. I can see stars here at home. The cruise needs to start at least an hour earlier in order to see more scenery. We can eat after dark. A few fans would also help. It was uncomfortably hot. A top open deck would have been nice. It was a little pricey but affordable. Ray & Carol

Loved the dinner cruise

The cruise was fabulous (wondered about the two songs from Titanic, made me nervous); food was great; service amazingly good; well organized. Captain took time to talk to every table, very impressive, and seemed a genuinely nice man. The boat staff and the catering staff very friendly and everyone smiled a lot. It was nice of the Captain to announce special birthdays and anniversaries over the loudspeaker. Enjoyed his comments about geological places of interest. On the downside, the road into the marina was a nightmare. The Dolly can't control the road, but it's twisty and lots of turns, takes a long time because of posted speed limits, and scary though it is, people pass on a double yellow line (they must know the road). All in all, I'd do it again, but I'd prefer not to drive out in the dark.

Pretty, but slow

Canyon Lake is great. The tour is nice, but it is not a paddle boat. It is more like a double decker platform that holds about 50 people on each deck. If you are a group of 6 or more, you might want to rent a personal pontoon boat. That way you can bring food and drinks on board, stop and swim, and enjoy yourself. Our group will be back next year and we'll spend the extra money for our little boat.

Great relaxing cruise
Sat, Sep 12  12:00 PM sivory Female 60-69 Local Family Without Children
I and my elderly parents took the noon hour cruise in early September. We found it to be a very soothing ride. We enjoyed the scenery and the captain did not talk too much. Even though it was a hot day there was a slight cooling breeze on the water. Sitting on the top deck inside gave a great view of the canyon and protection from the sun. Walking down the many steps to the boat was difficult for my dad but he was the one who did not want help. He did start down ahead of the group. I knew beforehand that there was a wheelchair available if necessary. I wish the cruise were either at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Our only criticism is that we were starving by the time we got back on shore and could have our leisurely lunch at the resaurant.
