Local on Return Visit with Out of State Visitors

The first time I went on the Dolly was for the evening dinner cruise some years ago. This 2pm cruise was to treat out of town guests. Both cruises were HIGHLY enjoyable! Just wish we could have gone further into the canyon waterway....and that the Bighorn Sheep had chosen to make an appearance while we were there. We appreciated the preboarding for our physically challenged guest, (including the additional 3 members of the party so that all could remain together) With a computer (and PRINTER) Zerve made it very easy to purchase tickets in advance. I would suggest that the Dolly Steamboat website advise visitors that the drive from Apache Junction to the Marina turn-off is very winding and has multiple switchbacks, including 2 one-lane bridges....particularly helpful to know if exiting the area after dark.

We have been on quite a few different excursions and this was by far the best. The Captain made it special with his wonderful sense of humor. We enjoyed his choice of music. We would highly recommend it. Thank you so much.

This was a great activity. The price was reasonable and fair. The staff were friendly and helpful. The mix of narration and music was very pleasant. We did expect more information on the surroundings, like plants, etc that we passed. Very relaxing and pleasant activity, we highly recommend it.

A Feast for Eyes & Soothing Journey for the Heart!
Tue, Jan 20  12:00 PM MrsBarrs Female 50-59 Combination Other
Visiting from NC, my best friend sis from Scottsdale planned this day trip for the two of us and what a priviledge and joyful adventure it was! Relaxing, peaceful, serine, informative, absoultely gorgeous breathtaking views from the cruise boat. A literal feast for the eyes with soothing scenery for the heart, a glimpse of just one of the most awesome views of God's "live paintings" and up-close view of a portion of His creation. The crew is gracious, welcoming, wonderful hosts/hostesses, witty, educational, and fun to be with on the journey. I absolutely highly recommend the cruise to anyone visiting the area and plan myself on returning in the near future to visit again this beautiful and breathtaking site.

Beautiful, but not much talk about nature
Fri, Nov 21, 08   12:00 PM thomaskj6 Female 20-29 Local Other
The scenery was beautiful, and the staff was friendly and helpful. A Big Horn Sheep was seen by some of the passengers and the captain circled back around so everyone could see it! That was very nice. I was disappointed with the lack of "nature talk". Most of the audio was a mix of easy listening songs, with just a little talking thrown in. I would have liked to hear more about the animals that live in the mountains (whether we saw them or not), as well as about the geology and plant life. There was some, but not as much as I would have expected for a nature cruise. I would still recommend the trip, but more for the pretty scenery than the educational value.
