It's Fun, But don't expect too much

| I have been on this dinner cruise twice, the first time was several years ago, and then again just recently. Honestly, the quality has dropped significantly in my opinion....The activity is very enjoyable... the Canyon is gorgeous; the captain is knowledgeable about the area and entertaining. Just don't set your expectations too high, I mean you get what you pay for... The food isn't very good. The dinner is buffet style... As you walk through they line they slap this HUGE slice of meat on your place that is at least 30% fat (to the health conscious, it is hard not to loose you appetite right then and there), then your hopes rise because at least you get a piece of grilled chicken, only to realize upon tasting that is it is dry. You also get a salad that wasn't fresh, some soggy veggies, and a baked potato.... the baked potato was the only thing I actually enjoyed... and let's face it, I was hungry and nothing else was any good! Then later in the cruise they serve apple pie that wasn't palatable. I wish I could give two ratings for this event. The activity is a lot of fun and I would recommend it... But just don't expect too much from the food. Also, a heads up on the seating, when you order you tickets online, they ask you your preferred seating choice, although those seats aren't promised... we ended up in what I would consider the worst sitting area (again different from my experience the first time!) | ||||||

| We took my son and my daughter and her husband, on the dinner cruise last Saturday eve. My daughter lives in northern California and was totally enthralled with the experience. She never realized we had such a beautiful lake so close to Phoenix. The service and the food was wonderful. The captain's narration of the lake and canyon was very well done and very interesting. The ONLY small complaint I could make is I wished the cruise started at 5:00PM instead of 6:00PM because the last 45 minutes or so was in the dark and you couldnt see any of the features of the canyon. All in all, a very enjoyable time was had by all! We highly reccomend it! | ||||||

| It was amazing how much you can pack in in 90 min. The tour was awsome and the views were spectacular. This tour shows alot of what Arizona has to offer with so much diversity. From the desert to the high cliffs it was beautiful to see. The Captain was also very knowledgeable on local facts and lore. | ||||||

| My family and I found the Narrated Nature Cruise at Canyon Lake very relaxing, smooth, peaceful, and educational. The Narrator also did an awesome job educating those familiar and unfamiliar with the Arizonan desert. I would definately recommend the cruise to family, friends, and visitors. | Tuesday found my wifte and I and a couple of friends on the Dolly Steamboat. The Captain was informative and pleasant. The trip was restfull and enjoyable. The flora was pointed out. We did see some eagles flying and other birds. It is a nice ride and we recommened it Thank you | ||||||

| This was our first Dolly Steamboat cruise. I had seen Canyon Lake by motor boat and was anxious to experience the Dolly. My visitors (3) from Scotland loved the relaxing time and were thankful for the breeze through the lower deck. Cameras were clicking away. My other family members (2) also found the time relaxing and enjoyable. The 2 preteen girls of my group were quite content as well. We were not lucky enough to see any animals on shore but that is beyond the control of Dolly. | ||||||

| I enjoyed the Dolly tour immensely. It was informative of the rock formations and history of the lake. The area is absolutely beautiful. I only wish it had lasted just a bit longer and could have seen some hidden cove areas or just more of the lake. | ||||||

Good Tour -but Bad Timing

| We went on this cruise over Memorial Day weekend and I would not suggest people do that. The volume of the speakers was probably loud enough on a regular day, but on this day, my husband and I could not hear much of what was being said and none of the beautiful music I had been told about. My sister and friends did this cruise in March and commented over and over about how wonderful, peaceful, and overall great things were. We didn't find much peace there - there were so many boats "flying" by us and lots of noise - too much to hear over. The actual cruise is great - the scenery beautiful. Of course we saw no animals - what animal would come out into that kind of chaos! There were birds flying though. I would suggest that people take this cruise - it is a wonderful one - just NOT ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND when everyone else in the Phoenix area and surrounding states decides this is the time to put their boats in the water and have picnics! I would love to go again - only this time in the spring or fall when not as many people are around. | ||||||

We will be bringing other family members in the near future. In fact, my sister and her husband have already made reservations based on our experience. | ||||||

| The Dolly Steamboat Twilight Dinner Cruise was an enjoyable and relaxing way to spend an evening with friends. I would highly recommend this cruise if you wish to show your out of town guests some of the best kept secrets of Arizona or if you would like to spend a romantic evening with that special someone. Either way you will be mesmerized by the majestic vistas that surround Canyon Lake. The cuisine isnt half bad either!! | ||||||

| This was a great cruise all around...We really enjoyed ourselves. The food was good and the lake was beautiful. The captain and crew were very nice. I would recommend it (and have already) to everyone...locals and visitors alike! | ||||||
