My husband, mother and I decided to find something fun and different to do on a Saturday afternoon. After purusing the internet I found this interesting activity that was close to home. We had never ventured to this part of Phoenix so we decided that this would be a nice excursion for the day. The directions provided on the site were very easy to follow. We had no problem finding the marina and there was ample free parking. The restrooms are located close to the steamboat entrance. We arrived in plenty of time and even though we had to stand in line for a short time there was plenty of seating if you needed it and overhead cover to keep you out of the sun. The reservation process was very organized and the crew was obviously well trained. When boarding the steamboat the captain greeted and assisted customers with a warm and welcoming smile and occasional joke. The cruise itself was very relaxing and the narration and music made the journey very enjoyable. The captain kept to his time schedule but you did not feel that he was rushing the cruise. The scenery and the wildlife are stunning. The captain took his time to angle the steamboat to make sure that each passenger was able to appreciate all the views. He consistently pointed out different rock formations, recited history about the area and helped you use your imagination. We would recommend this cruise if your looking for something that will help you unwind and let your mind wander.

The weather was perfect for touring Canyon Lake. Our group spotted 7 big horn sheep, awesome experience. It was fun to try and identify them since they blended in with the scenery. The crew was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We sat on the upper deck in the back and did not have any problems hearing the captain's comments. We stood in line for an hour and 45 minutes to get the 1st boading pass in order to assure we sat where we wanted too. I was disappointed that boarding was done by groups of 25 instead of by order of boarding pass number. It was too bad that the reservation window did not open earlier to give out boarding passes to avoid standing in line so long. Great day overall

This is the second trip on the Dolly in two weeks. The quality remains high. The crew is professional and also has a great sense of humor.It is obvious that they take great pride in their work and really enjoy what they are doing.. The narriative is informative and presented in a great format. The PA system is clear and the boat is immaculate. What a great day on the lake. Lunch in the dockside resturant is a bonus. Good food and people; what more could one want.?

The cruise is so relaxing and the scenery just spectacular! The crew was very attentive - a most enjoyable experience! If I went again - I'd take an outdoor seat - much easier to get photos!

The cruise was terrific and appropriate for all age groups. One can kick back and relax and just watch the scenery and enjoy the tranquillity or marvel at what can be learned by listening to the Captain describe some of the wonders of nature here in Arizona. The cruise exposes tourists --- as well as locals who are "first timers" --- to a view of Arizona that is surprising, indeed breath taking. This is a truly unique and wonderful experience.

While the scenery was enjoyable, the ticketing process was cumbersome. First, I was too early, then I was late to pick up tickets which resulted in less than favorable seating, even though I had prepurchased the tickents before traveling to AZ. I would suggest adding staff or making other arrangements to hand out pre-purchased tickets.

We enjoyed the afternoon immensely as the weather was much better than the forecast. We saw a lot of blue herons, desert mountain sheep, eagles and other sundry wildlife and plant growth. The surroundings are beautiful and well worth the effort to go across Phoenix to take the cruise. The crew was entertaining and knowledgable.

We took this narrated cruise in mid February. The weather was nice, about mid 60s with bright sunshine. The scenery was beautiful and we were able to spot 6-8 big horn sheep which added to the enjoyment. The staff on the cruise were very informative and answered questions appropriately. The crueise was very enjoyable and interesting.

We got in the same line as those who had made phone reservations directly with the Dolly company. They each paid $20. We paid $22 on line. There was no advantage to having e-tickets.

This was a great way to give out of town family (from COLD Minnesota) an overview of another part of AZ. The weather cooperated, the tour information was helpful, and perhaps the most spectacular was the sighting of the mountain sheep. We all got some awesome digital pictures. We'll do it again, and recommend it highly.

This was an opportunity for our family from ages 8 to 60 to spend quality time together enjoying and learning about Arizona nature from enthusiastic guides that shared much information, pointed out specific details, and took time to answer questions that our group had with humor and obvious enjoyment of their roles as guides. We will definitely take other guests on this canyon tour aboard the Dolly steamboat. A meaningful experience in a short period of time, especially for out-of-state visitors.
