Activity Description
In our current production BIRTHRIGHT, The Reverend Etienne Thomas is seen as a saint in the eyes of the community; privately he is a man imprisoned by his past. When confronted with all that he has sought to escape, the carefully woven threads of his life begin to unravel with devastating consequences. BIRTHRIGHT is written and directed by the multi-talented actor/director/writer, Jackie Alexander.

BIRTHRIGHT is premiering worldwide at the Billie Holiday Theatre, so you'll be the first to see the newest work of the acclaimed director, Jackie Alexander, whose previous directorial work at the Billie Holiday Theatre includes THE DESIRE (which he also authored) and LOSING THE LIGHT.

This thought provoking drama will take place in the elegant 200-seat Billie Holiday Theatre, named after the legendary singer Billie Holiday, which has served as the training ground for many notable and aspiring theater professionals.

Described as a theatre with a "soul and a mission," this intimate performance space has produced special programs that address social issues of concern and interest to the African-American and Caribbean-American communities for more than 35 years.
