Description

The Billie Holiday Theatre is pleased to present our current production THE LEGEND OF BUSTER NEAL, the story of a  fearless African-American civil rights activist who reappears some 60 years after his supposed death to face his greatest challenge, his great-great-grandson.  THE LEGEND OF BUSTER NEAL is a dynamic piece that keeps you on the edge of your seat and will run from February 18, 2011 through March 27, 2011.

THE LEGEND OF BUSTER NEAL, written and directed by Jackie Alexander, features Nathan Purdee, Patrick J. Mitchell and Stephen Hill.

THE LEGEND OF BUSTER NEAL is premiering worldwide at the Billie Holiday Theatre, so you'll be the first to see the newest work of the acclaimed director, Jackie Alexander.  Mr. Alexander is known to our audience as the writer and director for THE DESIREBIRTHRIGHT and 2009's hit comedy-drama THE HIGH PRIESTESS OF DARK ALLEY.

This compelling drama will take place in the elegant 200-seat Billie Holiday Theatre, named after the legendary singer Billie Holiday, which has served as the training ground of notable, aspiring theater professionals.

Described as a theatre with a "soul and a mission," this intimate performance space has produced special programs that address social issues of concern and interest to the African-American and Caribbean-American communities.
