Always More Than Satisfied

Desire was witty and funny which some may find hard to accomplish with a serious subject as the Katrina catastrophe. Each actor portrayed their character with Oscar winning performances. I have only been to a few plays at the Billie Holiday Theatre and I'm always more than satisfied. I'd also like to recommend Appleby's Restaurant before or after the show. The service and food were very good. D. Chambliss

Amazing Desire

We had never been to the Billie Holliday theater. The play "The Desire" was absolutely amazing. The cast was exceptional and the play itself was well written and directed. The theater staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful.

APEALING DRAMA

I FOUND THE PLAY,"THE DESIRE" TO BE A VERY A VERY HARD HITTING,THOUGHT PROVOKING PLAY. THE ACTORS DID A SUPERB JOB IN THEIR VARIOUS ROLES AND POINTS ABOUT PRESIDENT BUSH AND THE KATRINA VICTIMS WERE PRESENTED FAIRLY AND WITH DEAD ON PRECISION. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLAY FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY. EXCUSE THE CAPITAL LETTERS AND THE BAD SPELLING,SINCE I REALLY CAN`T TYPE.

This play was rewardingly action packed and very funny. I fell in love with one main actor, that made the whole evening worth while. I have been to previous Saturday plays at the Billie Holiday Theatre, this was my first Friday evening play and I enjoyed it so much I will change to Friday evenings. I felt more relaxed and comfortable with enough room to stretch out. I was very satisfied. I took my 15 year old son and he told me he like the Desire play the best. The play touched real life topics, and was very close to home. Outstanding stage atmosphere. I will use Zerve again for future programs. The service was excellent and time saving. Thank you.

This was my second time visiting the Billie. The entire play was beautifully written and performed. Funny, sad, exciting, dramatic - it has a little of everything. As a New Orleans native, the parts of the play focusing on Katrina and the politics surrounding it were dead on - Thanks Jackie Alexander! And for the price, it's a real gem. Stop Off - Broadway for an evening and check out Brooklyn's finest community theatre: The Billie Holiday Theatre!

I really enjoyed The Desire. It had all the elements of an engaging play. It had moments that were funny and moments that were serious. The subject matter was very relevant. The actors were great as well!!!! Kudos to Jackie Alexander!!!!!!!

What a Play!!!!

Although this Play was highly recommended to me, I couldn't imagine something of this magnitude playing off Broadway. Way, way, way off-Broadway. Living in the suburbs, I was a bit reluctant to travel to downtown brooklyn to see a Play. I was so glad I made the trek. I rate this Play alongside any of the Broadway shows I've seen. Magnificently performed. The actors were A+. Very professional, very real characters. I can't say enough about it. I was blown away. My only disappointment was to look around the theatre and see it not full to capacity. A play of this magnitude is deserving of a full audience. If you haven't seen it, run, don't walk to get your ticket before it leaves.

Spontaneous Treat!

I was just sitting at home and said to myself I was tired of just staying home alone. So I got on my computer to look to see what was going on locally. I had checked out a few places. I finally went to the Billie Holiday Theatre site and saw there was a play that would be starting at 8:00 PM. I got my ticket online at about 1:30 and I was pretty excited about just getting out of the house. When I got to the theatre and got my ticket, we were allowed to take seats at 7:30. The music that was playing before the show started was extremely soothing. I felt so relaxed. The show finally began and I must say. It was fantastic. I was pleased to see the mixed cast and the actors were all dynamic. It made me laugh and it made me cry. These actors acted just as good or better than some actors I have seen on Broadway! Everyone in the theatre was giving the cast standing ovations and yelling BRAVO! I cannot wait until the next show! My spontanaiety surely took me to a lovely evening out.
